Zhao Yun Ru is one of two main antagonists in the cyberpunk video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. She is the CEO of Tai Yong Medical and a member of The Illuminati, using her own army to wipe out the competition, mainly by force, including Sarif Industries, and become the richest businesswoman in the world.
She was voiced by Jane Luk.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Zhao used her wealth and influence by taking over other companies by force, using her own personnel to get what she wants.
- She had sent her enforcer, Jaron Namir, by severely and mortally wounding Adam Jensen.
- Had stolen vital and classified information from Sarif Industries by Arie van Bruggen.
- Faked her plea for help by trapping Adam Jensen in her penthouse to have him killed by her mercenaries.
- Sabotaged the biochip and used Darrow's signal by causing humans to become berserk, attacking one another against their wills.
- She enslaved women by powering the Hyron Core, intent on rewriting the broadcast to augmented people and conquer the world.
- She did not cared for her subordinates, including Jaron Namir, and merely views them as mere pawns in order to accomplish her goals.
- Unlike Hugh Darrow, who wants to stop production of augmentations and ban them altogether, Zhao Yun Ru defies Adam Jensen's words and uses the Hyron Core to power herself up and defeat him, but was ultimately thwarted by Adam when he shuts down and destroys the Hyron Project, killing her altogether and foiling her plans.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Although she overall passes the baseline, she still massively fails the overall Heinous Standards alongside her in-story heinousness altogether. Furthermore, as the game has far too many plotholes, this ultimately prevents her from being fully PE as a result. Even her appearance in Deus Ex: Icarus Uprising doesn't exactly help due to her past not being explored deeply enough, which further prevents her from being PE.
