Yuki Shien is the main antagonist of the films Death Note: New generation and Death Note: Light Up the New World. After his family were murdered, Yuki is left the sole survivor and treads on the path of villainy after Light murders his family’s killer.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Becomes devoted to Light after the latter murders the killer of Yuki’s family and takes up a career as a cyber terrorist.
- After getting ahold of the Death Note, he murders two reformed criminals (Kazutoshi Namaki and Taichi Kunugida), who had been let free ten years prior despite their attempts to reform for their crimes.
- On the hunt for more Death Notes, he kills Sakura Aoi whilst the latter is in the middle of a killing spree but is unable to get his hands on the Death Note due to the task force arriving.
- He takes control of Chief Justice Kenichi Mikuyia into handing his Death Note over and after giving a message to the Task Force, Shien ends up killing Kenichi with the Death Note by writing that he ‘commits suicide with a smile on his face’.
- He also killed Alexey Ivanov and Roger Irving.
- Convinces Misa Amane to help him after restoring her memory for his own gain.
- During his last moments, he hands his Death Note over to Mishima before going down fighting, killing as many people as he can before he is killed.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Has a genuine tragedy of losing his family and being placed in an orphanage when he was young and it still holds up since he genuinely cared for them and his motivation into joining Light was due to him assisting their killers.
- He also cares about his deceased family and respects Kira.
