Henry Jonathan "Hank" Pym, also known as Yellowjacket, is the main antagonist of "What If... the World Lost Its Mightiest Heroes?", the third episode of the Marvel animated anthology series What If...?.
He is a variant of the former wearer of the Ant-Man suit and former member of S.H.I.E.L.D., before he left after a major falling out with his Pym particles being used without his consent, who in this universe, has lost his daughter, Hope van Dyne, when she entered S.H.I.E.L.D. and got killed in a confrontation, to which he goes on a killing spree, murdering all the Avengers before they could assemble and willingly destroy Earth's chances of defending itself.
Like his original counterpart, he was voiced by Michael Douglas.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- After losing both his wife and daughter, Hank blamed S.H.I.E.L.D. for everything that happened and plotted to take revenge by ruining Fury's greatest project, the Avengers Initiative, despite clearly knowing the project would be needed to save the Earth from any form of harm later be it destroyers or conquerors, knowingly dooming the entire planet in the process.
- Murdered all the Avengers Initiative's candidates (and future Avengers in the Sacred Timeline) by:
- Killing Tony Stark by entering his body through the syringe and then poisoning him.
- Killing Thor by releasing Hawkeye's arrow that he had aimed at Thor, which causes Hawkeye to get arrested for his murder and enrages the Asgardians, leading them to invade the Earth and threaten it.
- Killing Hawkeye himself, presumably by poison as well.
- Killing Bruce Banner/Hulk in a horrible manner by going inside him and using one of his enlargement devices on his heart to make him enlarge and explode.
- Killing Black Widow by dragging her to be beaten to death.
- Tries to murder Fury, who is actually Loki, saying that Fury's death would be his greatest triumph.
- While the deaths of his wife and daughter are tragic, they do not justify his actions, since the people he killed had nothing to do with his tragedy and were all killed just to spite Fury, even knowing the Avengers were needed to protect the Earth from any form of harm.
- He even killed Thor, who hadn't actually been inducted into the Avengers Initiative, just because he assumed Thor would be given the offer if S.H.I.E.L.D. saw what he was capable of, going so far as to call his death a favor to Loki disguised as Fury. What's more, both Janet and Hope died on missions in the line of duty, and Fury rightfully points out that Pym was selfish on his part by explaining that S.H.I.E.L.D. is people fighting for something larger than themselves, and that is what Hope sacrificed her life for.
- His decision to kill Thor would have major negative consequences, since his death would lead Loki to arrive on Earth and have the Asgardians attempt to conquer the planet to avenge Thor's death.
- By preventing the formation of the Avengers, in the long run, the Earth may be threatened by Thanos and his forces, and without all the Avengers to stop the Mad Titan, Thanos' quest for the Infinity Stones may have terrible and irreversible consequences, which means that the whole universe could be damaged thanks to Pym's petty vendetta against Fury.
- While Hank Pym is not heinous enough by MCU's Heinous Standards as a whole, in the What If...? series, he sticks out enough due to lower resources and his heinousness.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Even though his actions are so bad that it nullifies his tragedy, Hank does truly love his wife and daughter, and their deaths are what motivated him to become a serial killer. He is also visibly saddened and then angered when Loki tricks him into destroying Hope's grave.
Trivia[]
- This is both the only version of Hank Pym and Yellowjacket to be Near Pure Evil.
- Darren Cross in the main timeline can't qualify as Near Pure Evil because he fails the MCU's high Heinous Standards too much, is too much of a comic relief and redeems himself in his final moments.
- Hank Pym is, alongside Prince Killmonger, one of the two What If...? villains to be Near Pure Evil.
- He serves as a dark reflection of the Hank Pym from the main timeline. Both were famous heroes, both got married and had a family together, but then they both lost their family members and became very bitter. Although the main timeline counterpart was eventually able to cope with it and had his tragic backstory hold up before he rose above it, this version decided to eliminate all sympathy he may have had by lashing out all of his anger towards Nick Fury and 5 of the Avengers candidates, who had absolutely nothing to do with his loss. He serves as what the main timeline counterpart would become if he went too far with his corrupting factors.
- Coincidentally, this version of Hank Pym is Near Pure Evil while in the main timeline he is Near Pure Good.
- After losing Janet, Hope was stated as the last thing that kept Hank from going over the edge in his despair, this version proving that theory.
