Yakumo Oomori (大守 八雲, Ōmori Yakumo), also known as Yamori, is a major antagonist in the supernatural dark fantasy manga/anime series Tokyo Ghoul, serving as the main antagonist of the Aogiri arc of the Manga and the first season of the Anime.
He is voiced by Rintaro Nishi in the anime, and Christopher Sabat in the English Dubbed version.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
Background[]
- He worked with Lantern to ambush Arima and Fura, before fleeing after he is wounded by the former.
- After being brutally tortured by an investigator in Cochlea, he gained an obsession with torture due to the thrill he got of imagining himself as the torturer to escape the pain. After escaping the prison, he would make a hobby of subjecting his victims to brutal forms of torture, before killing them.
- He joined, and became an executive of Aogiri Tree, not only to aid them with their goal of eliminating all humans due to their belief that Ghouls were the superior species, but also as a means of getting victims to torture.
Tokyo Ghoul[]
- In the Anime only, he blackmails Asaki Fueguchi into making him a new pair of pliers by threatening his family, and after he makes them, he attempts to kill him anyway simply because he doesn't hate humans.
- After being ordered by Aogiri Tree to find Rize, he leads a raid on Anteiku alongside Ayato and Nico. When Kaneki attempts to fight back, he beats him to a pulp and takes him to Aogiri due to smelling like Rize.
- He foils Anti-Aogiri's escape attempt and kills two of their members. He then makes a deal with Kaneki, claiming that he won't punish the rest the of the group if Kaneki agrees to become his underling. Despite Kaneki agreeing, he goes back on his deal and imprisons the group anyway, even using some of them in his torture of Kaneki.
- He imprisons Kaneki in his torture chamber and proceeds to torture him for ten days straight using brutal torture methods:
- He injects him with an Rc suppressant so that he feels pain like a human and won't regenerate body parts.
- He repeatedly cuts off his fingers and toes every time they grow back when the suppressant wears off.
- He places a Chinese red-headed centipede in his ear.
- He brings in Kei and Kouto, who are a mother and son, and forces Kaneki to choose which one he kills. After Kaneki refuses to choose, he kills them both.
- In the Anime, he does the same thing with Haru and Shuu, who were girlfriend and boyfriend.
- His torture of Kaneki is the main reason why Kaneki lost his innocent side and became much more violent.
- After the CCG attack Aogiri's base, he attempts to cannibalise Kaneki, only for Kaneki to fight back and proceed to cannibalise him.
- On top of almost committing cannibalism through his attempted consumption of a ghoul, he was is responsible for the consumption of countless, which he would also attack in very violent ways before killing and eating them.
- Even in his last moments, he never expresses any remorse for his crimes.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He has a genuine tragedy of being tortured by the sadistic combat instructor Goumasa Tokage, and only became the monster he was due to how it helped escape the reality of being tortured. However due to the fact he became arguably worse than Tokage and was already evil before then, it’s a weak prevention.
- He is hinted to have genuinely loved his mother, as he calls out to her when being attacked by Ken.
- He is genuinely affable to his fellow white suit, Naki, as he is known to give him birthday presents and is always patient with him.
