The Witch, or Witch Satoko (or Witchoko), is the main antagonist of the sequel series to the Higurashi franchise Higurashi: When They Cry Sotsu. She was created due to the human Satoko's continuous looping and takes over once Satoko was feeling remorse.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- She seemingly "kills" her human side before brutally killing her Uncle Teppei. She then bludgeons Keiichi when he was lured to her house.
- She continues the plan of forcing Rika to stay in Hinamizawa by injecting victims with L5 of the Hinamizawa Syndrome and gaslighting Rika.
- She is bereft of any of the human half's emotions; sense of remorse; and compassion.
- When Rika finally realizes what is going on, she kills her in increasingly gory ways.
- Even when defeated and the human half of Satoko redeemed, the witch half is still determined to chase after Rika.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- She is Satoko's negative traits given physical form which gives her moral agency issues.
