“ | ♫ It's Been So Long, since I last have seen my son! Lost to this monster, to the man behind the slaughter... ♫ | „ |
~ The famous reference to William in the chorus of "It's Been So Long". |
“ | ♫ I hope you Die In a Fire! Hope you'll be stabbed in the heart, hope you get shot and expire! Hope you'll be taken apart, hope this is what you desire! ♫ | „ |
~ William Afton in the chorus of "Die In a Fire". |
William Afton, famously known as the Man Behind the Slaughter thanks to various memes, is the main antagonist of The Living Tombstone's Five Nights at Freddy's songs, serving as the unseen overarching antagonist of "Five Nights at Freddy’s 1 Song" and "This Comes from Inside", the main antagonist of "It’s Been So Long" and "I Can’t Fix You", the main protagonist of "Die In a Fire" and an unseen antagonist in "I Got No Time".
He is a serial child murderer who killed five children and one adult woman, alongside creating animatronics to do the work for him.
He is voiced by EileMonty.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He is a serial child murderer who killed at least five children, leading to them possessing the main five animatronics.
- "Die In a Fire" confirms their deaths were brutal too, as Afton mentions he broke their bones.
- In "This Comes From The Inside", we see the Toy animatronics suffering like the others and Golden Freddy, suggesting they also have dead children inside them, although this wasn't confirmed.
- He tortured the sentient Funtime animatronics, having them electrocuted and ripped apart, and actively ignores Circus Baby trying to reach out to him.
- In the first song, it is shown that all the souls are stuck in a fate worse than death, being forced to stay stationary through the days, and through the night are turned feral against their will. While William seemed to not have known at first, he does know by the time of "Die In a Fire" and feels no remorse.
- It's also heavily implied that the animatronics murder the night guards just like in canon, given their mentions of looking for newcomers so they could play with them.
- As shown in "It’s Been So Long", the deaths of the children caused grief across their families, including the singer of the song, who is the mother of the fifth dead child.
- Given how the Puppet, who is possessed by Golden Freddy's mother, mentions "seeking someone to avenge [her]", it's clear that Afton killed her, too.
- Given that at the end of "Join us for a bite (remix)" it's shown that William is still "alive" as Springtrap is seen shaking and reactivated. This would mean that as Springtrap William likely tried killing the night guard out of sadism much like in the original FNaF 3.
- Completely destroyed Freddy, Chica, Bonnie and Foxy in order to get rid of the dead children's souls, brutally hacking them to pieces in order to do it.
- Due to Vanny’s appearance in "This Comes From Inside", it’s implied Afton has done the same crimes as in canon, including corrupting Vanessa into becoming a serial killer and brainwashing the Glamrock animatronics to kill Gregory.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He genuinely cared for his daughter, as “I Can’t Fix You” shows that William was distraught over her death and spent years wallowing in the basement, while lashing out at the Funtimes and Baby for being unable to “be her".
