ā€œ The Grim Reaper's visiting with you! ā€ž
~ Waingro

Waingro is the secondary antagonist of the 1995 crime thriller film Heat. He is a former accomplice to Neil McCauley and his team until he murders a security guard for no reason which the others to hate him and try to kill him in turn. Then, he decides to exact his revenge on them by allying with crime lord Roger van Zant.

He was portrayed by Kevin Gage, who also portrayed Gabriel T. Rorke in Call of Duty: Ghosts.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He becomes a member of Neil McCauley's team and participates in the robbery of an armored truck. While Neil wants the robbery to go smoothly without any killings, which is why he holds the three guards hostage, Waingro kills one of them simply for looking at him the wrong way.
    • This causes one of the other two guards to attack Neil and his team which leads to his death at their hands. Then, they have to kill the last guard to eliminate witnesses. While Neil and his team are robbers, even they are disgusted by the unnecessary murder which Waingro performs.
    • Later, Waingro displays no remorse for killing the guard or for the deaths of the other two guards and thinks he is in the right.
  • He is a serial killer of prostitutes who first has sex with them, then he murders them by beating their heads in. His latest vicitm is an underage girl who is either 16 or 17 years old.
  • After Neil and the other members of the team try to kill Waingro for what he did, Waingro decides to take revenge on them by allying with Van Zant and helping him against them.
  • He goes to Trejo's home, has him tortured to get information on where and when Neil's crew would perform their next operation. Even after Waingro gets the information he wants, he still leaves Trejo to suffer from his injuries and murders his wife, Anna. When Neil finds Trejo in that state, he gives him a mercy kill.
    • It's also heavily implied that Waingro may have sexually assaulted Anna before killing her considering both Waingro's perverted nature and the fact her bloodied corpse was found naked, lying on a bed.
  • Waingro and Van Zant then give this information to the police which results in a shooting across the streets between Neil's crew and the police officers and even leads to the deaths of several people, including Neil's two associates.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He fails the Heinous Standards to Otis Wardell from the sequel Heat 2 who does worse things than Waingro, like killing more people, regularly torturing his victims in a lot more vicious ways than what Waingro does to Trejo and being a serial rapist who sexually assaults women in the houses he robs as well as underage girls whom he plans to traffick. While Otis has his own gang and Waingro doesn't, Otis still commits his worst crimes on his own and without the help of his men.
