Victor is a posthumous antagonist in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War and the late former Duke of Velthomer.

He is the father of Arvis and his half-brother Azelle. Subsequently, he is the maternal grandfather of Arvis' children; Julius, Julia and Saias. Notably, he is one of the very few serial rapists in Fire Emblem series.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Victor was already a married man and married Cigyun (who was unknowingly possessed the minor Loptous Blood). However, in his life, he was infamous for being an extremely lustful man. He was a womanizer who had love affairs with several women. He is also a misogynist at heart, seeing women around him was nothing but his sex objects.
  • Furthermore, he would force himself on several women he lusted over, and it made him a serial rapist (a kind of villainy that was very rare in the series) much worse than a simple womanizer.
  • When Arvis was seven, Victor raped Cigyun's favorite handmaid, when he was severely drunk. Accidentally in the process, he impregnant her and conceived Arvis' younger half-brother, Azelle. When Victor discovered what had happened, he blamed everything on his victim and attempted to banish her out of his household, but Cigyun prevented it.
  • Even though he raised his illegitimate son in his household, Victor did not seem to care about Azelle, either. Instead, Arvis took care of his brother when the latter was still an infant.
  • Later, Cigyun fell in love with Prince Kurth, who had arrived to help her coping with her husband's abuse. They had a love affair and conceived Deidre. However, when Victor discovered this, he immediately disregarded his own infidelity and status as a serial rapist, hypocritically calling his wife out. He wrote a suicide note to curse Cigyun and Kurth, before he committed suicide out of pure spite.
  • Whilst not appearing in the story for being a posthumous character, Victor's actions had drove influence to the story, especially indirectly giving grounds for Manfroy to set off his plans.
    • Victor's uncaring nature towards his sons had made Azelle a timid child, whilst Arvis had developed an Oedipus complex to his mother, which took a role in his feelings towards Deidre.
    • Victor's domestic abuse had forced his wife into another man's arm and gave birth to another child (Deidre) with minor Loptous blood.
    • Victor's hypocritical curse and suicide caused Cigyun to become miserable, with her heart filled with loads of guilt. Soon, Cigyun was forced to flee back to the Forest of Spirits, taking Deirdre along. This had become the core reason of Manfroy discovering Deidre's status as a carrier of minor Loptous' blood.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Victor is a posthumous background character that never appeared directly in the game, and he is only mentioned by Arvis in Chapter 2. However, judging from Victor's heinous acts, as well as the lasting influence his actions brought, Victor is widely considered by the fandom as one of the most repulsive characters Kaga had ever presented in his Fire Emblem games.

Trivia[]

  • Victor is the only Near Pure Evil in Fire Emblem series that is a completely unseen, only mentioned.
  • There was another minor antagonist in Fire Emblem Awakening named Victor, but is a completely seperated character.
  • Due to the sheer obscenity of the crime (serial rape) he had committed, Victor is the ONLY Fire Emblem Near Pure Evil that has his page marked with mature warning.
  • Whilst people that committed adultery are not rare in Fire Emblem series, Victor is one of the very few of them that will commit rape, not to mention a serial one.
