I don't know how many days it has been, it all feels like a long dream... I am Utsuro, I'll be using that name. Yes, for you guys only. A classmate who lived together with you for several months. If you don't understand this then.. you can just think of me as Yuki Maeda.
~ Utsuro after regaining his memories

Utsuro is the main antagonist of the Korean Danganronpa fangame Danganronpa Another and the overarching antagonist of its sequel Super Danganronpa Another 2. As a member of the Ultimate Despair, Utsuro created a Killing Game as a experiment in order to make sure Monokuma is reliable for Junko Enoshima's future Killing Game. He later erased his own memories (along with Akane Taira's) in order to play his own Killing Game like a normal participant.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • While he did use his powers to help people who were suffering, he only did it for the thrill, not out of genuine heroism, and by the time the events of the story take place, Utsuro is only using his powers for evil.
  • After Junko Enoshima made him feel a emotion for the first time in years, Utsuro decided to help with her evil plans.
  • After an student known as "Yuki Maeda" enrolled in Hope's Peak, Utsuro ordered Akane Taira to murder his parents and lock him away somewhere. After that was done, he disguised himself as Yuki in order to infiltrate in Hope's Peak Academy, impersonating the former for months, while the real Yuki was imprisoned.
  • During the Tragedy, with the help of Akane Taira and the Monokuma robots, Utsuro killed all employees in the Kisaragi Facility, leaving only the Hope's Peak students alive.
  • Using the Hope's Peak students and Alter Ego Monokuma, Utsuro created a Killing Game where all participants are bound to stay locked in the facility forever and can only escape if they commit murder. If a culprit commits murder but is found out, they get executed. This resulted in 11 students dying, either for being the victim or culprit of a murder.
    • He's even indirectly responsible for Monokuma killing 100 children at a cathedral church that Kenji Uehara belonged to.
  • The reason why he created the Killing Game and recorded it was to test Alter Ego Monokuma to make sure he is good enough for Junko's future Killing Game. This also means Utsuro was perfectly fine with helping Junko create a second Killing Game.
  • After recovering his memories in the final class trial, Utsuro made the three survivors fall into absolute despair by revealing the fate of their relatives.
    • He even reveals to Kinjo that he made his father eat the remains of his best friends, causing Kinjo a great shock.
  • He tried to have Akane Taira murder the survivors, and when she refused, he ordered Monokuma to kill her. it only failed because Alter Ego Kisaragi hacked the computers.
  • He's indirectly responsible for the events of the second game, where Mikado Sannoji became obsessed of reviving him to obtain his Divine Luck that he created a virtual world to replicate the Killing Game he created, resulting in the brutal deaths and executions of the victims and murderers there, respectively, and even the real Mikado's death when his AI Alter Ego had him killed. What's worse is that the people that Mikado kidnapped who were killed in the virtual world also died in real life.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He's genuinely tragic, as despite being blessed with Divine Luck, he abandoned by his parents because he was horrified when they used him for their own greedy desires. It also left him unsatisfied in life since he wasn't able to experience anything due to his luck, which made him grew about bored of the world and developed suicidal tendencies. The only reason he became loyal to Junko in the first place was because she actually made him feel something for the first time. In fact, in his final moments, he thought about how he could lived a normal life like his false "Yuki Maeda" persona if he didn't had Divine Luck, showing his true desires deep down. His death is also played for sympathy.
  • He does seem to have genuine care for Akane Taira, his partner in crime, as he used his Divine Luck to have her survive the Killing Game and, when both of them were drowning, he passed down his Divine Luck to Akane to save her, which also resulted in his death. While he did try to kill her once, even that was done politely, with Utsuro wishing she'll never find someone as terrible as him in her next life.
