Ushari is the secondary antagonist of Disney's The Lion Guard series. He is an Egyptian cobra that serves Scar as his second in command.

He was voiced by Christian Slater, who also played Jason Dean in Heathers.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Helped Janja and his crew summon Scar back as a spirit so he can cause trouble to the Pride Lands.
  • Despite initially helping out with resurrecting Scar under the threat of being eaten by Janja, he continued to willingly aid in Scar's plans and proved to be extremely sadistic. He's even shown to enjoy being evil.
  • While he may have been friends with Timon and Pumba as shown when he smiled at them in Kupatana, he subverts this when he goes with Scar's plan to turn Pride Rock into a wasteland, which would have killed them.
  • Tried to trap the Lion Guard in the Volcano to let Simba die.
  • Gave Scar the idea to kill Janja's entire clan when he was considering reforming and joining Jasiri.
  • He, along with Scar, attempted to kill Janja's Clan by burning them alive along with the Lion Guard and royal family when the hyena thought of leaving Scar and joining Jasiri to be not killed by him like their ancestors were.
  • When he learned about Scar's plans to have Kion make the volcano erupt with the Roar of the Elders, which would turn the Pride Lands into a wasteland, Ushari went along with it and even enjoyed the idea.
  • The reason he turned evil is because bad things happened to him when the Lion Guard was around. Yet, he invalidated this excuse by taking his revenge too far by aiding Scar in attempting to destroy the Pride Lands.
  • Bit Kion in the eye, injecting him with venom that would slowly bring out Kion's darkest instincts and make him lose control of the roar.
  • As one last act of spite, he attempts to avenge Scar by killing Kion but is stopped by Bunga and dies in a similar fashion to Zira.
  • Kion's scar would cause him to have a personality change and become ruder and more violent, meaning Scar and Ushari were indirectly responsible for the bad change in Kion's character. Not only that, but Ono temporarily lost his sight for a long time due to Ushari's attempt to murder Kion. It took Kion several months of healing at the Tree of Life to finally overcome Ushari's venom.
  • He and Scar were indirectly responsible for the formation of Makucha's Army and most of the events of the third season as well as the Lion Guard not being around to help stop Zira.
  • He stands out for being responsible for the creation of Scar's army by summoning his spirit.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He fails the Heinous Standards to Scar due to most of his worst deeds being done under his orders.
  • He was legitimately loyal to Scar, as he tried to protect Scar, becoming upset when he was finally defeated, and tried to avenge him before being pushed to his death by Bunga.

Trivia[]

  • Ushari and Zira are the only villains in The Lion King animated movies and shows that are considered Near Pure Evil.
