She does not give herself any good with that smile
Hello Everybody. This is my first proposal done in this wiki (a proper one at least and not the failed one i did, i am sorry for that), after making a proposal for Zak for PG, i thought it was a good idea to propose a villain from the show...but because i can't make proposals for neither IH or PE, i decided to just do a NPE and looked at one of the main villains in Season 2. Chronam-yatt, now everyone just sit and see, the despicable being she is.
What's the work?
Sendokai Champions or DesafĆo Champions Sendokai in Spain, is a CGI animated series co-produced by Kotoc and RTVE. It follows the story of 4 friends; Zak, Chloe, Kiet and Fenzy, that are bad at Soccer, but one day they receive wristbands from another dimension given by a old Sendokai warrior called TƤnpo, with the mission being to search the greatest warriors in the multiverse to face against the Zorn empire and win the Sendokai tournament that happens once every 10,000 years.
Over time, the boys faced the difficulties of not only fighting against an interdimensional empire, but also against their own personal problems (like family issues).
Who is she?
Chronam-Yatt is one of the two main antagonists of Season 2. She is a chronek with the ability to manipulate space and time. However is later revealed that she is actually the Goddess of evil created by the gods of the sendokai along side her sister Chronam-sunn (the goddess of good), with the mission of keeping the balance between good and evil in the Multiverse.
What has she done?
In her first appearance, she and her sister participate in the tournament against the Sen-kuns, and although they had the advantage, they end up losing anyway, with Chloe telling them that the future was not written. While in the shadows, She had different plans and she allied with Sidmodius, revealing to him that the future is in reality, written.
For the rest of season 1 she does nothing, except being on the side of Sidmodius and also helping him steal the Ses-trad Chest to have the first step of their plan.
In Season 2, She and Sidmodius travel back in time, and in Masara (which is earth in the past), Sidmodius starts to absorb the sen from the Masarians to make himself stronger while Chronam-Yatt was looking at him doing it all this time, and then she told him that only taking energy and destroying villages was not enough, so by doing a complicated plan that required the death of the sorceress Danima, She caused all the inhabitans of Masara to fight each other until the Sen-kuns intervened and caused the First Sendokai Tournament, who would allow the winner to become the ruler of Masara.
The Senkuns, Kiwuns and Sidmodius all pass their matches, Chronam-yatt helps Sidmodius a little to gain more popularity among the Masarians by having a guglin child be in the middle of the battlefield with Nastoff (who is a genocidal monster) as an opponent, all with this with the idea that Sidmodius becomes a hero in the eyes of the people. Chronam-Yatt's plans are revealed in more depth, as his plan is to turn Sidmodius into the great Zorn after winning the first great Sendokai tournament, only to then cause chaos in the multiverse and make evil rule, and all this is said by her sister.
During the time that the Sen-kuns have to face the Kiwuns, she decides to execute her plan, sending Yakis to Earth to begin the destruction on the planet, but her sister prevents her, but not before she says that the true Great Zorn is not Sidmodius, but Lon, then she has a battle against her sister where evil ends up winning against good and is absorbed (and killed).
While the Senkuns confront Sidmodius, Chronam-yatt detects that Lon touched the helmet of the great Zorn, so she gives the power of immortality to the helmet and manipulates him by telling him that if he puts it on, he will become the great zorn, he will be immortal and he will be able to create a world with no pain. Sidmodius arrives defeated, then she tells him that he was a puppet all this time, he gets angry and absorbs her, turning Sidmodius into a giant yaki and the Sen-kuns alongside the people of Masara end up erasing Sidmodius (and Chronam-yatt).
Heinous standard
Sendokai has a very high Heinous standard even though it's a children's show.
The villain of the first season literally enslaved several dimensions in the multiverse and steals their most precious energy, in addition to sending people to the vortex (Which is a prison) just because they failed to him in some way.
That is not mentioning the books (which are canon), that have villains that try to start a war between planets by killing a queen, a evil god of the seas that flooded the whole world for a indefinite time, Evil versions of the main characters that torture people by giving them rotten food, a monster that eats crops and killed a entire race, and Sidmodius transforming thousands into Yakis.
Chronam-Yatt manages to minimally stand out because she plans to cause chaos in the multiverse and we know that this is not something from fridge horror, since it is seen that the Yakis were causing destruction on masara and even in the present of earth, also she killed her sister, which is a unique crime in this show since even no one has ever wanted to kill their own sibling.
Possible preventing factors?
Chronam-Yatt is treated 100% seriously throughout the series, we are never shown having comedic moments or jokes.
She's not tragic either, her past is that she was created to keep evil in the multiverse and she clearly likes doing evil things, plus her death at the hands of Sidmodius isn't treated as a moment where you feel bad for her, in fact she literally says "my mission has been accomplished", so she clearly is not meant to be sympathetic either.
Well, one possible problem that could be mentioned is perhaps the fact that she may have moral agency because she is the goddess of evil and therefore cannot do anything other than evil. This could work, if you forget that in her first appearance, she seemed mostly neutral and didn't show any evil behavior, and even after showing her true colors, she shows knowledge of right from wrong since she is also able to manipulate Sidmodius into making himself look like a hero for Masara, or even telling to Lon that wearing the Zorn helmet is not about good or evil, but about justice, showing that she can know the difference between right from wrong and yet chooses to be evil because she likes it.
And well, she doesn't care about anyone, she literally killed her sister without any sign of remorse, she considers Sidmodius as a puppet and only considers Lon someone she can use for her goals of making evil rule the multiverse again.
What prevents her from being Pure Evil?
Since it's clear that she's not a comedic, that she doesn't have moral agency issues, and she clearly doesn't love anyone but herself, what prevents her from being Pure Evil? Well, what I think everyone here already guessed...she doesn't pass the Heinous Standard completely.
Since she fails with Sidmodius (who transformed thousands of Masarians into Yakis, which would basically be a FWTD), or Nastoff, who killed a entire species and forced them to be Balls of energy (another FWTD), King Ses-trad who blowed up a whole dimension with the Ses-trad Chest, even if you want to take resources into account, she still fails to use her full resources since she has the power to manipulate space-time, while Nastoff is can't remotly do that, and Sidmodius has no other thing except Ses-trad Chest.
However, i consider this a minor prevention since she still tried to cause chaos in the whole multiverse and that is something no villain (to the point of writing this)has shown to try or want.
Verdict
YES, for her all the way.
