What's the work?[]

Law and Order: Organized Crime is a law-and-order spinoff which stars Elliot stabler after he left the special victim's unit. The series deals with mobsters, but mostly gang leaders and undercover missions.

Who is he[]

Kyle Wilkie is the main antagonist of the "Shadowërk" arc in Law & Order: Organized Crime. He is a mercenary who creates a website through which subscribers can order assassinations and revenge rapes.

What has he done?[]

History[]

Coming from Dublin, Ohio, Kyle was an outcast who had no friends and barely connected to anyone. he was sent to a psychologist by his mother, Linda, but it never worked, and he kept being depressed and obsessed with online games. He lived in her house, mainly the attic until he was 26 years old where he listened to hard rock. With his coding skills, he made a website called "Shadowërk" to order people to be raped, tortured, and/or murdered to make everyone else in the world miserable.

On Christmas day, he didn't go his grandmother's house with Linda but instead took an uber and connected with the driver. They went to have lunch with each other, and Kyle said he made something that would show people's greed and sadism. No one visited the website at first, and, growing hopeless, he made a letter to his mother. He hung himself with a noose, but when he saw a notification about ordering the murder of Georger Patel, he escaped.

For the next 6 months, he ordered dozens of rapes and murders with his website, paying subscribers to give him bitcoin so he could put their target on the website. afterwards, he made them take pictures so he could hang it on his wall and look at them while he performed autoerotic asphyxiation, which he grew to like after his suicide attempt

Pareto Principle[]

Phil McBride, a serial robber, sees two black men in a car spying on him, and later that evening, his wife finds his decapitated head in the dryer. It’s then found out that his friend, Frank Little, was executed in a Walgreens parking lot. It’s later found that Junior Saurez was the one to murder Phil with the help of Mike Pendergast. Mike helps another hitman attempt to kill another man, but Stabler turns out to be the target. Several other murders, including Rachel Lee-Sprague, are found, and Stabler grows suspicious that there’s a revenge-for-hire ring.

Bad Things[]

After a tourist is brutally raped in her hotel room, Olivia Benson and the team start to investigate the crime. Hours later, another perp rapes another woman named Evie Quinn. The ex-fiancé of Darlene is put into suspicion because she left him and wasn’t there at the marriage. A nanny named Maria Varga talks to Velasco and Tutoula after calling them and describing her rape. Rose Bergman, another woman who was raped is suspected to have been raped under her husband's orders. Elliot Stabler is the lead detective on the additional murders, so Benson and Stabler meet up to link their investigations.

Shadowërk[]

Saurez is asked in prison on who ordered the rapes and murders, but he doesn’t answer. Gretchen Sully, the wife of Derek, reveals a website named Shadowerk, which she got from another coworker. After Jet Slootmaekers gets into the site, they find dozens of open jobs. Maria is found on the website, and the many people who founded it are arrested. There are dozens of open jobs, with one job being the murder of Gary Longo. He agrees to help, and in an uncover sting, the man who accepts the job is caught. Judge Barbara Ziegler, who was going to sign an electronic warrant for his site, is put on the Shadowerk website and killed in her car.

All Pain Is One Malady[]

Wilkie shuts down the site after Jet uses a virus to slow it down, and McGrath yells at her out of anger. After a serial rapist is taken down, Benson and Stabler are put on the website with a 50-thousand-dollar bounty.

With Many Names[]

We get a flashback to his backstory and after a subscriber he hired to shut down the server is arrested, he tells the police that Kyle Wilkie made him do it. They talk to his mother, but she declines that she saw him or talked to him in a long time. Stabler and Olivia yell at her before getting a warrant to check her house, where his suicide note is found. A man named Tracy Horner takes the bounty on Benson and Stabler, and he attacks the place with bear gas. He shoots Benson, but Stabler manages to give her the gun, which ends up in Tracy’s death. Linda is reminded over and over that Kyle has had many people killed, which she knows is true, so tells them about his cabin. Knowing the police are coming, he shoots at Stabler, Bell, and the fellow officers when they enter his camp. Eventually, he shoots Jamie Whelan in the throat and into the spine, leaving him in a paralyzed state. After he is caught by Bell, he tells her that life is meaningless before stabbing himself with a Katana.

Kyle manages to survive his wounds and get treated in the hospital. Against his lawyer's advice, he admits his guilt by saying that he won’t shut it down. Fortunately, Stabler and Bell pull out their trump card by threatening to have his mom imprisoned for being an Accessory. Kyle says that Linda abandoned him, but after getting information that she was devastated reading his note, he realizes she does love him. Bell and Stabler say that if he truly does love his mother, he will shut down the website. In the end, he is imprisoned after shutting down the site, while Jamie Whelan is unplugged from life support, leading to his death.

Heinous Standard[]

The heinous standard is high, but Kyle Wilkie blows it out of the water. When we get into his cabin, we see 93 images, which is full of rapes, assaults, and murders. In addition, we know around 60 people on the Shadowërk have open jobs, which is a victim count of 150. Counting the attempted murder of Benson and Stabler and his cop murder (of a main character, mind you), that is at least 153. He has no one to help him either, with coding skills being the only thing he can use unless you want to count marksmanship and intelligence. So, yeah, he easily passes the heinous standard without a doubt. I looked through the images and I don't think I see judge Zeigler, so he might have 154 instead. Still, he easily counts in this section. If he did not shut down the website when the police threatened to put his mom in jail, he would keep on ordering assaults and murders for even longer, thus increasing his victim count too an even larger extent. 3 more jobs are finished when he is arrested, so we can actually get 96, but the problem is that those cases could have been the open jobs we have seen before, so i wont focus too much on this.

Mitigating Factors[]

Kyle is described by Professor Amanda Rollins as a psychopath who wants to watch the world burn, even himself. There isn't much to talk about for redeeming qualities, except for two scenes.

His first scene is when his mom talks to him about what he is going to eat and if he wants to come to her with Christmas. He declines to go with her and tells his mom he will figure it out. Wilkie then calls a taxi and meets up with a taxi driver with whom he eats lunch with. He does seem genuinely affable to this taxi driver as well since he says that talking to her was a nice experience and she shouldn’t have to deal with her racist boyfriends’s family.

Wilkie says that his mother doesn't love him, but he still never says that HE doesn't love her, just that he thinks he doesn't love him. When he is told she was sad after reading his letter, he agrees that she does love him and shuts down his website to stop her from being imprisoned. So yeah, these are two pretty clear preventions.

Verdict[]

Easy yes
