NPE Approved

And for another Ben 10 NPE, a pretty boring guy.

What's the Work?

Ben 10 is a cartoon about the titular character Ben Tennyson, who in a summer vacation with his cousin Gwen and grandpa Max, ended up finding a mysterious device that sticked to his wrist, a device that gave him the power to transform into multiple alien species, using it to become a somewhat super hero while facing against alien threats, magic beings and other humans, much of them seeking to attain that device named Omnitrix for their own evil goals. This franchise went for multiple series, where Ben and his friends fighted multiple threats and saved the world multiple times, even the universe.

This time, we are going to focus in an organization known as the Forever Knights, some humans that pretty much go against any type of alien life living on Earth, usually wearing armor and using weapons they created with alien technology, usually having the goal of fighting against aliens, good or bad. One of the members of this group already counts as PE, the last Forever King, but there is another King that could count here, the first one we ever see.

Driscoll as the Forever King

Who is Sir Driscoll/the Forever King? What did he do?

Sir Driscoll once part of the Plumbers, was caught stealing alien technology for his own goals which got him kicked out of the organization, Completely angry, Driscoll joined the vile group of the Forever Knights getting time later to become one of the Forever Kings, planning to use them to take over the world.

Appearing for the first time just after the one who was the face of the Forever Knigths by that time in the series, Enoch, got defeated by Ben 10 once again and being trapped in a dream, Driscoll decided to leave him like that for failing and get into fighting Ben Tennyson himself.

Creating his epic team of villains named the Negative 10 (Team that would never be remembered by any Ben 10 fan), Driscoll would start his plan to steal a very powerful energy stuff, known as the Sub-Energy, all to be able to use its power to take over the world. Anyways, after a bunch of fights, getting the two keys to actually get to it, using the Negative 10 to get into the Mount Rushmore's base and attain the Sub-Energy. Driscoll shows no type of issue in leaving his team behind after they got captured, as his only goal was to attain the Sub-Energy for himself... anyways Ben transforms into Upchuck, eats the Sub-Energy and uses it to defeat Driscoll, who although his armor got destroyed, he managed to survive (and that's how the original series ended I guess).

Coming back time later, Driscoll had no epic armor anymore, but instead was discussing what to do with the leaders of the other factions of the Forever Knights, when the incredibly cool Sir George appeared tasking them with getting rid of all aliens from Earth, with pretty much all of the leaders swearing loyalty to him. So after that, we see how Driscoll men start the event known as the Purge, were they pretty much tell aliens (or half aliens) to leave, if they refuse they are violently killed, something that we get to see with one of the Plumber kids, Pierce who ends up being murdered (just for his death to never be brought up as it should). Driscoll would continue with this murders and capturing a bunch of aliens from Earth, that is until Ben and his team got in the middle of his operation. Ben decides to get into a duel against Driscoll, where if he wins Driscoll would have to leave the aliens in peace but if Driscoll won, Ben would have to leave the planet forever, as he is somewhat of half alien too, leaving Driscoll to continue with his operations. But well, long story short, thanks to transforming into Ultimate SpiderMonkey, Ben ends up winning.... but Driscoll as the guy with no honor that he is, still tries to kill all the dozens of aliens that he had captured in that place, which got Ben to attack him and heavily threaten him and the rest of knights in order to stop all of this, which Driscoll ended up having to do, leaving defeated.

After that, Driscoll doesn't do much, he helps Sir George in his goals, tries to stop Vilgax from freeing Dagon just as George wanted but ends up getting killed as many of the Forever Knights in the battle.

Pierce's death

Possible Mitigating Factors?

As other Forever Knights (minus Sir George), Driscoll shows no actual extremist and just follows an extremely xenophobic way of thinking against any type of alien, even if they are half human like Pierce or others, shows no care for any of the Forever Knights or even people that he gets on his team as the Negative 10, although he does go against Vilgax to stop him from freeing Dagon, this was mostly for George asking him to and even then he continued to be hostile and wanting to kill the Tennysons, so yeah, not redeem or anything like that.

Although it could be said that he might fall the heinous standard, I personally don't think so, as the Purge that he did was pretty fucked up against hundreds or thousands of aliens, with him being the one that got it go as violent as it went, with him also being responsible for the death of Pierce, with him also being a sore loser that even after losing the duel still attempts to kill all of the aliens that he captured out of spite, I say that Driscoll gets to stand out with everything into account, being surely one of the worst of the Forever Knights.

What prevents him from counting as PE?

Welp, it is very simple, Driscoll shows an immense loyalty towards Sir George, immediately bowing to him after getting to know who he was, asking for forgiveness after failing him, and pretty much doing anything for him, his loyalty was so high that it ended up getting him killed, doing anything to continue with his goals and protect him.

Final Verdict

A yes for this Forever King.
