Hi NPE wiki, today's proposal is someone I actually proposed first but uh my dumbass didn't check the whitelist requirements, but now I'm in it so I can finally propose this guy.
What's the Work?
Super Meat Boy is a challenging platformer franchise where you play as a meat cube named Meat Boy, who must rescue his girlfriend, Bandage Girl, from the evil Dr. Fetus. It has a total of two games: Super Meat Boy! and Super Meat Boy Forever!, the first game being released in 2010 and the second being released in 2020.
Who is He? What Has He Done?
Dr. Keith Fetus, simply known as Dr. Fetus, is the main antagonist of the franchise. He is a very intelligent and hegemonic scientific fetus in a mechanical suit, and worst of all, he's a troll with his constant flipping.
Super Meat Boy!
At the beginning of the game, Dr. Fetus beats up Meat Boy then kidnaps his girlfriend Bandage Girl after realizing no one likes him. The first thing he did was use Lil' Slugger, a big walking mech with a chainsaw, to try and kill Meat Boy. He fails by crashing into a wall, so he escapes after he destroys the entire forest. In Chapter 2, he would just unleash a blood monster to kill Meat Boy, after it failed, Dr. Fetus would escape by throwing Bandage Girl to the ground before jumping with an umbrella. In Chapter 3, he makes a monster who looks similar to Meat Boy, its name is Brownie, of being made of meat, he was created with... Dr. Fetus' feces. However, not even after 10 seconds of Brownie was created, Dr. Fetus activated a trap that caused the Salt Factory they were both in to rise, in an attempt to drown them both in salt. Meat Boy survived, Brownie almost falls but Meat Boy manages to save him before Dr. Fetus began hurling bricks at the poor man for no reason but just for fun. In Chapter 4, he'd have Meat Boy brutally beat up Bandage Girl after thinking it was him before exploding Hell itself and basically turning everything around them into a nuclear apocalypse.
In the final chapter, Meat Boy manages to catch up before Dr. Fetus kicked him off then exploding him, he was overjoyed before Meat Boy respawns. He is confused before killing Meat Boy again but he respawned yet again, the dude immediately goes mad after realizing Meat Boy can't die, so he keeps trying to kill him throughout the entire level. In the end, Dr. Fetus falls and shatters his jar, he flops around and dies... actually he doesn't die, he flips off Meat Boy one more time before exploding the entire area as a last ditch effort to kill him, Meat Boy escapes with Bandage Girl fortunately. Fetus comes back and lands on top of Bandage Girl, beating her up but he's insanely weak, Bandage Girl slaps him off before aggressively stomping on him.
Super Meat Boy Forever!
We're back 10 years later and he's still as spiteful as ever, such as aggressively flipping off the narrator before he beats up Meat Boy and Bandage Girl with a shovel then kidnaps Nugget. He basically got tired of Meat Boy being immortal so he's trying to get dumb luck on HIS side. He recreates Lil' Slugger into a bigger and stronger machine and even almost succeeded in killing them before Nugget messes it up by pressing the eject button, causing both of them to go land on another place. Regardless, as the first, the forest is retired and practically almost every animal is dead, except for a few who swear revenge on the Fetus.
By the final chapter, both parents make it to Dr. Fetus' lair, and he just claps for them before a lot of versions of him pop out of the shadows, he's literally making a last ditch effort to kill both of them. He fails no shit, getting punched by Meat Boy before dropping a pile of dead Meat Boy bodies on both of them for actually no reason since they don't even struggle, dude did it for the fun of it. He gets knocked back when his machine suddenly barges in, it's the animals from Chapter 1, including Manic and Solid Squirrel. Fetus looks more annoyed if anything, shaking his head before pressing a button, he blows up Lil' Slugger, literally killing every animal around it and Manic (except for Solid Squirrel).
Solid Squirrel makes it to a button, Dr. Ftue actually gets scared and tells him not to, but Solid Squirrel dies and his body limps, but it hits the button. Time itself and the world messes up, with Meat Boy and Bandage Girl turning older and older, whereas Fetus just vanishes. Much later on, they both find Fetus and Nugget, Bandage Girl tries to punch it before it's revealed it's not even him, he reveals he's basically become a God known as "Omega Alpha". After the fight, Nugget would spawn back, despite their best efforts to comfort her, Fetus outright tries to squash all of them with a platform, he almost succeeds before Nugget offers a pacifier. He transforms back to himself and takes it, he tries to pet Nugget before he gets kicked and punched by Meat Boy and Bandage Girl, and that literally sets time WAY back (like before the animals died) and fixes it, as both of them go back to normal. While Fetus appears dead, he isn't and he throws a tantrum, throwing glass at Meat Boy before flipping him off.
Dr. Fetus' Mean Meat Machine
Throughout the game, Dr. Fetus puts a bunch of Meat Boy clones through various test chambers based on obstacles the original Meat Boy overcame. While they start off looking nothing like Meat Boy, they slowly begin to look more like him as Dr. Fetus progresses through his plan. After the clone fully forms, Dr. Fetus flips him off and soon kills him with a shotgun after the Meat Boy tries to attack him. He would laugh then creates many more Meat Boy clones and prepares to kill them with a spike ball weapon, only to be sucked in by a warped zone. This causes it to fire a spike ball which lands on the machine controlling the machine used to make Meat Boy clones, resulting in it malfunctioning and create a lot more Meat Boy clones. Despite this, Dr. Fetus appears in the credits, where he laughs whenever a pair of Meat Boy clones are killed by buzzsaws.
Heinous Standard
He's basically the heinous standard here, as everything that happens in the game was BY HIM, he's responsible for a lot of things due to out of sheer spite. While he might seem a lil basic with the whole "Kill-the-Hero" villainy, what actually pushes him further is in the sequel. While it's a little vague in the first game if Fetus didn't know that the animals were sapient (shown when a squirrel was shedding a tear), he becomes clearly aware in the second, where he saw the animals rallying up to him, so he did the simple response of blowing up the vehicle, killing every animal around it without even a second thought. He is NOW aware of the animal's sapience and knows that he destroyed the forest twice yet shows no remorse or care that he did, treating the whole thing as a mild annoyance. He pushes it even further in the third game, where he makes a bunch of clones of Meat Boy just to kill them, and is shown to gleefully laugh as they get cut down by buzzsaws in the end.
Is He Silly Enough?
He's a fetus in a robot suit, has a plentiful dark humor moments (such as beating Bandage Girl, using a feces cube to fight Meat Boy, throwing a brain into a whole bunch of glass shards) and the running gag of his middle finger. In-universe he's taken pretty seriously, and the sequel hammers it up when Fetus tried to kill Bandage Girls and Meat Boy, the thing not being played for laughs in the slightest due to the horrific realization they won't be able to save their daughter.
What Prevents Him from Pure Evil?
Alright so, abundantly clear, this man doesn't care about his minions at all, given he goes such extreme lengths to make them with the sole purpose to kill Meat Boy, so there's no care there. However, in the second game, despite literally kidnapping her, he ends up genuinely caring for Nugget, as overtime he is softening up towards her and even after Nugget cries he still tries to cheer her up. While he might've subverted this in the finale, where he becomes basically a God and almost outright kills Meat Boy and Bandage Girl with Nugget underneath, he doesn't as when Nugget offers a pacifier, Dr. Fetus comes down and the child would give him the pacifier, he tears up by this offer and seemingly tries to pet Nugget before he just got his ass kicked by the other two. To hammer it, he breaks down after being defeated, flipping off the parents before he sees the pacifier again before Nugget waves goodbye at him, where he waves goodbye back, and he looks genuinely sad to saying goodbye to her, so ultimately, yeah he cares about Nugget.
Final Verdict?
A rather weak yes to this not doctor.
