The unnamed Echidna warrior is the overarching antagonist of the 2022 film Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the second installment of the Sonic Cinematic Universe.
While not much is known about their past, it is known that they were one of the members of the Echidna Tribe who forged the Master Emerald. They would use the Emerald for conquest, leading to them being defeated by the Owls and have the emerald taken from them.
Their Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Them Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- They used the Master Emerald to destroy entire armies, with at least one army they killed being shown on-screen, giving them a kill count of at least hundreds and at most thousands.
- When the Owls ambushed them to take the Master Emerald, they tried to fight them off, intending to continue using its power for their evil acts.
- Their actions led to the Owls and the Echidnas fighting for centuries, with the Echidnas wanting to reclaim the Emerald for themselves.
- In a sense, they are indirectly responsible for a majority of the events that happen in the films, considering their actions would indirectly lead to the Echidnas and Owls attacking each other constantly and Longclaw sacrificing herself to save Sonic.
- This would also lead to the destruction of both the Echidna Tribe and Owls, as both would seemingly end up killing each other.
- Despite their little character, they are still shown to be power-hungry and evil, preventing them from being a Generic Doomsday Villain.
- Unlike Eggman, Gerald, or Shadow, they have no redeeming qualities and they are taken completely seriously.
What Prevents Them from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Due to appearing for around thirty seconds and not even making a physical appearance, their characterization isn't fully expanded upon and left rather vague.
- They fail the heinous standard to Gerald Robotnik and Shadow the Hedgehog, who tried to burn down the earth and kill all humans without the power of the Master Emerald, with them also having personal villainy with Gerald killing Commander Walters and Shadow almost killing Tom. However, the warrior still manages to stand out due to his unique crime of obliterating entire armies and slight influence, and they do still have a much higher successful kill count then both Gerald and Shadow.
Trivia[]
- Out of all the Sonic Near Pure Evils (and to some degree, Near Pure Evils in general), the Unnamed Echidna Warrior has the least amount of screentime, given that they only appear for about thirty seconds.
