I was property too once. A house Cog for the Widow's husband. And every night... after she went to sleep... he would knock on my door. He could have had any Doll in Wall Street. But he didn't want them. You can't pay a Doll to love you, he said. Not like his little Tilda.
~ Tilda's story of the Widow's Husband.

The Widow's unnamed husband is a minor antagonist in the AMC series Into the Badlands.

He is the former Baron of the Butterfly Territory who was well-known for his cruelty. He ruled the territory with his wife Minerva, who he repeatedly abused and would even brag to others about. After he began raping Minerva's adoptive daughter Tilda she would eventually assassinate him, making her the new Baron of the territory and giving her the title of "The Widow".

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He served as one of the Barons in the Badlands, making him a tyrant who is responsible for owning human slaves, which includes sex slaves known as Doll prostitutes.
  • He was remarkably cruel even among the other Barons, to the point that Juliet Chau, the cruelest Baron of them all admired him for his brutality and his own Regent Nathaniel Moon considered killing him several times.
  • He married a Cog woman named Minerva and abused her physically for years, going as far as to brag about it to others.
  • He raped the underaged Tilda every night, even though as a Baron he could have had any Doll he wanted.
  • He forced Tilda to say that she loved him while he was raping her, and on the one occasion that she didn't say it he did something to her that was so horrible it made her decide to kill herself the next night, which she would have done had the Widow not assassinated him.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • While his crimes are heinous enough to pass the series standards, they are all ultimately off-screen as he is never physically seen in the series and instead his actions are told to us by the Widow or Tilda retelling her story of being abused by the Baron to Odessa.
