~ The SOUL's response to Spamton's question of whether or not he impressed them. |
The SOUL, also known as the Player or their vessel's name, Kris Dreemurr, is the villainous protagonist of the Salt Route concept for Deltarune.
In an alternate route in the second chapter of the game, the player would collect five Salt Stains found in the Cyber World. After doing so, they would recruit Spamton G. Spamton into their party and begin using him as their puppet, slaughtering dozens of Darkners.
Their Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Them Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- While they offer to help Spamton find his keys, this was actually just a trick to have him join their side so they could use him.
- They force Spamton to slaughter countless enemies across the Cyber World, not sparing a single enemy in their path.
- When Spamton begins to question the player's actions and show signs of remorse and hesitation, they continue to manipulate him into believing they were actually helping him. In reality, they just viewed Spamton as a puppet and nothing more.
- They force Spamton to kill the friendly blue Addison who tried to rekindle their friendship with Spamton.
- They seemingly have Spamton kill Queen after entering her mansion and finishing off every other enemy in their path.
- When Spamton asks them whether or not he impressed them, they do respond yes at first, only to eventually answer "no". This further shows that even after everything, the SOUL truly doesn't care about Spamton at all, just viewing him as a puppet.
- Unlike most versions of the SOUL who is depicted as an enigmatic and amoral force, this version of the character, while still enigmatic, is still depicted as a manipulative and abusive force with truly nothing good about it.
What Prevents Them from Being Pure Evil?[]
- While they do have more characterization than the original counterpart due to being depicted as a manipulative entity and even having a single line of dialogue, due to their incredibly enigmatic nature and motives, they still lack sufficient characterization to be Pure Evil.
Trivia[]
- This is currently the only version of the SOUL to be Near Pure Evil.
