~ The Night Shift Abductor, realizing that no one can stop his goals of sacrificing people to The Entity. |
The Night Shift Abductor, or more simply The Butcher, is the main antagonist of Stay Out of The House and it's prologue the Night Shift.
He is a sadistic serial killer and cannibal that kidnaps people throughout the country in order to eat them, but also because he needs to feed the deity he has somewhat allied with, as the entity enjoys eating humans the most when they are fearful which The Butcher tries to starve his victims to death, or torture them so that they are in a good state for the entity to devour them in.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He made a deal with an Entity that he would loyally serve him (which included feeding living human beings) in exchange for superhuman strength and other abilities to aid him with his kidnapping spree.
- He grades his victims based on how well they put up a fight against him. If they try to escape, thus showing a will to live and are scared of dying, he feeds them alive to the Entity as the Entity loves eating people who are currently feeling fear, or if the victims have accepted their deaths or are not scared, he either tortures them to death in his kitchen before eating their remains, kills them with a hammer, or leaves them to starve to death in their cages.
- He along with a neighbour of his (also known as "the strange customer"), work together to abduct people during late night shifts or lone victims and he has kidnapped at least 21 people during his kidnapping spree.
- He breaks into a gas station overnight and kidnaps the late-night employee Debra Kopiske who can be found imprisoned in a cage later on in the game.
- He kidnaps Roxanne and her friend Brendan who he strips naked later on and kills with a chainsaw, and also infects Roxanne with a parasite as shown in the bad ending where she vomits out blood before a parasite shoots out her mouth.
- He has at least 13 kills to his name as there are dead bodies all over his house, some dead bodies in the cages who most likely starved to death as that is one of The Butcher's methods, with one body being completely dismembered, and some have been positioned around the house as decorations.
- He sacrifices some of his victims to the Entity he gladly serves who are eaten alive if they are scared of their eventual death as shown if Roxanne takes too long to break out the house, she will be fed alive to the Entity with screams of pain as the screen cuts to black.
- He hangs some of his victims on a meat hook and then chops off all their body parts one by one while they are screaming in immense pain.
- He has tortured his victims with on screen effects as one woman is so badly beaten, she can't even move, and another hostage tells Roxanne that she and the others have been tortured for weeks in a genuinely scared tone of voice, and there are also dead bodies in some the cages next to them that either starved to death or were tortured to death by The Butcher.
- He is obviously not well mentally, but still possesses a moral agency as he dreaded getting caught for his crimes at first, but after realising how powerful he was due to the Entity giving him new abilities, he just acknowledged he will remain uncaught for his crimes as no one can really stop him, and his crimes are far too meticulous to be just impulsive as he has a clear moral agency of knowing exactly when to strike when his victims are vulnerable, and also knows how to hide his identity well enough to the point where the police can barely identify him.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He cares about his mother, as if she is killed by Roxanne, he will become visibly angry and upset, flip over all the beds he searches, and be more aggressive towards his search of Roxanne afterwards.
- He seems to be loyal to the Entity, as after the Entity found homeless people distasteful, he went out of his way to get victims who would feel scared of their deaths to make them taste better but be more challenging for The Butcher to catch.
