You, the inventor of this marvelous bait... will make me a gargantuan Krabby Patty... and then... all the fish in the sea will be mine.
~ The Kraken.

The Kraken is the main antagonist of SpongeBob Comics issues #76 and #77, a.k.a. "Untidaled Pt. 1 and 2". He kidnaps Mr. Krabs' daughter Pearl after Krabs lets her go on her own to a fake talent show, and the gang goes to get her back, only to find that he is the one responsible.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close To Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Although he had a Freudian Excuse of being lonely from others during his time as a carnival barker, this does not justify his actions in the slightest, because of his heinous acts to the fishes.
  • After being tricked by Plankton of bringing Pearl and waited the treasure he promised, Kraken found her Krabby Patty and was amazed how attractive it can be, before devouring many fish by attracting them.
    • While his murders were off-screen, they have on-screen impact since piles of bodies were explicitly shown.
  • He made a jar to drain all of Bikini Bottom, and when SpongeBob and his gang arrived to stop him, he revealed his plans of devouring all sea creatures in the world, which is essentially genocide.
  • While he let the gang have their final moments before devouring them, it doesn't make him honorable, as he only did so to see the misery on their faces.
  • Despite the tone of the comics, the Kraken is portrayed as the darkest and evilest villain, with no redeeming qualities or remorse for his crimes and actions and is taken more seriously than other villains in the series.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Evil?[]

  • While he is taken completely seriously as a threat, he doesn't do enough to contradict the comedic nature of the franchise. Additionally, his defeat, well-deserved as it is, is played entirely for laughs, with Pearl singing, breaking the Karken's giant jar and causing him to fly away screaming that it was "AND IT WAS A GREAT JAR TOO!" The heroes even forget who he is with Patrick specifically asking for a recap.

Trivia[]

  • The Kraken is one of the two canon SpongeBob SquarePants villains to be Near Pure Evil, along with Cyclops.
