The Entity is the name given to the otherwise unnamed main antagonist in the 2014 horror film, It Follows. It is a supernatural being that incessantly pursues its victims at a walking pace.

What Makes It Close to Being Pure Evil?

• Implicitly in the past it has killed and raped many people.
• It killed Jeff/Hug's girlfriend by dismembering her legs when she got tired of running away.
• It began stalking Jay when Jeff/Hug gave him the curse.
• It tried to attack Jay on the beach by grabbing her by the hair and in the process it hit Paul hard, hurting him.
  • This ended up causing Jay to have an accident which caused her to break her arm.
• It entered Gregg's house and raped him to death, taking the form of his mother.
• When Jay (again with the curse) began to run away from him, it passed the curse to a guy where the entity ends up killing him.
• It takes the form of Jay's late father to hurt her emotionally before trying to kill her.

What Prevents It from Being Pure Evil?

• It lacks sufficient characterization since it does not speak, its origins are not explained and it is not given a motive, but it still demonstrates intelligence and a sadistic personality so this is a minor prevention.

• While it is currently Near Pure Evil, there's a chance that this may change once it returns in the upcoming sequel, They Follow.
