She was portrayed by Cara Delevingne.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Her tyrannical actions prior to the Common Era were obviously awful enough, considering that the humans betrayed her and Incubus and sealed them away in the Tres Osos Caves, and they both became infamous icons of the pagan myths concerning the ancient Pre-Columbian Maya and Incas.
- She possessed June Moone and used her as her vessel against her will, later on she took full control over her body. She later cut ties from Amanda Waller and went off to further her own agenda.
- Although Waller tortured her to ensure her compliance, she completely deserved it, not to mention she ended up torturing Waller later on anyway, not to ensure her compliance but to childishly assault her for simply calling her something foul.
- She killed a businessman and used his body as a vessel for her brother, Incubus.
- She and her brother massacred a subway station by killing numerous individuals, including destroying several trains.
- She and her brother took over Midway City and infested it with their army of mindless monsters they created by transfiguring civilians into one by forcibly kissing them. Amanda Waller says she transfigured elderly retirees, heavily implying she has no standards whatsoever.
- Although she warns Amanda Waller that it is cruel to use the Task Force X candidates despite everything they suffered, this is hypocritical since she herself wanted to use them to build her evil empire and tormented them with visions of their temptations being indulged as a means to sway them. So these standards of hers are clearly insincere.
- She and her brother attempt to create a weapon of mass destruction to eradicate all of humanity off the face of the Earth in order to be worshiped as gods again. She successfully destroyed a boat and a satellite in the process.
- She attempts to get the Suicide Squad to join her vicious conquest and tries to kill them when they refuse to join her. She also tormented them with realistic visions of them becoming enabled to give into their darkest temptations justified by their respective good intentions (Deadshot murdering Batman in cold blood, El Diablo forcing his family back over the threshold even though they belong in the afterlife, and Harley Quinn and the Joker seemingly being cleared of all charges and allowed to coexist openly in public).
- Although many at the time believed Batman was problematic for branding people, El Diablo just wanted to see his wife and kids again, and Harley Quinn just wanted to live her life like a normal person and convince the Joker to want the like, this doesn't remotely justify the Enchantress trying to deceive them into thinking their aforementioned temptations are realistic.
- Although she implied sincere respect towards Katana, this goes moot during the climax where she tries to cut her in half without hesitation.
- While she may not be as heinous as Darkseid or Steppenwolf, she is far less powerful of a supervillain than they are.
- While a very flat character compared to Amanda Waller, she still displays a megalomaniacal, delusional, perverted, sadistic, bloodthirsty, petty, and deceptive personality.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- She clearly has one standard: she genuinely cares for her brother and partner in crime Incubus, being visibly horrified by his death and openly mourning for his loss.
Trivia[]
- The digibook prequel Secret Files of the Suicide Squad tries to humanize the Enchantress a little bit, by revealing she wouldn't exploit people who are vulnerable from longsuffering regardless of their status as criminals unlike Amanda Waller, and by revealing she sincerely respects Katana as a person. However, bad writing makes it apparent that her standards about exploiting these people are pure hypocrisy and her respect for Katana is short-lived. Therefore, she only has one redeeming quality that the film shows to be objective, which is having standards about being callous to her kin.
