The Clown, also known as the Joker, is one of the three members of the villainous faction called, ‘The Three Jokers’ made up of three separate yet evil interpretations of the Joker’s origin.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Initially a more light-hearted prankster, the Clown commits more grim actions like killing multiple people with his Joker Venom whilst trying to get his Joker Fish patented.
- Whilst he does stop Rupert Thorne from revealing Batman’s identity, this is because he believes he’s entitled to be the cause of Batman’s downfall.
- Is responsible for the death of Jason Todd, kidnapping and later brutally beating him with a crowbar before blowing him up with explosives.
- He also schemes with terrorists and sells them nuclear weapons.
- Later, the Clown is seen teaming up with his other two iterations, the Comedian and the Criminal. The Clown captures three men in a half-way house and dumps them into ace chemicals, killing two of them.
- The Clown steals a truck to meet the other Jokers and purposefully runs over a Racoon in the process.
- The Joker infects more fish with toxins and he also adds toxins to a shark.
- Attacks Batman, Robin and Batgirl but is later knocked out and tied up whilst Batman pursues the other Jokers.
- The Clown psychologically torments Jason Todd and provokes the latter into killing him as Jason bursts into tears, reminding the latter of his final words before the Clown had bludgeoned him to death. Jason pulls the trigger before ending the Clown’s reign of terror once and for all.
- Whilst he doesn't mistreat his assistant Gaggy, there’s no indication he truly cares for him.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Regardless of The Three Jokers storyline being a part of the DC Canon or lowering the heinous standard as its own installment excluded from that, The Clown fails the Heinous Standards to the other two Jokers, as they are shown to have done worse like kidnapping other people to turn them into Jokers. This is minor given all of his actions and his willingness to give others nuclear weapons despite not having interest in using them.
- It is heavily implied that the Clown was kidnapped by the other Jokers and driven insane by them, making him tragic. However, given his actions, this is incredibly minor.
