The Thanapod is a minor antagonist of the Love, Death & Robots, and the main antagonist of the episode "Bad Travelling".

It was voiced by Fred Tatasciore when in Turk's body, who also voiced Dracula and Cthulhu in the same series.

Its Evil Ranking[]

What Makes It Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Despite being a giant crab that can only speak when controlling the body of someone else, that fact that it decides to weaponize corpses as puppets to communicate with others in the first place proves it clearly does have a moral agency and ability to think.
  • After washing up in the ship, it slaughtered several of the crew members before digging it's way into the basement.
  • Trying to invade Phaiden Island and eat everyone living there by forcing Torin to take it there.
  • Murdering even more crew members during the trip to the island, including a disabled person named Callis.
  • Losing more and more patience with Torrin every time he took too long to arrive at the island.
  • While part of it's motivations are it needing food to survive, this doesn't excuse the sadism it expresses in doing killing innocent people in supremely brutal fashions.

What Prevents It from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • It shows some care towards it's offspring, saying "we must eat" instead of it alone and even allowing them to eat the rest of the corpses.
