Yi Xing Long, also known as Syn Shenron in the Funimation dub, is the final antagonist of the anime series Dragon Ball GT. He is the last of the Shadow Dragons and the dragon of the One Star Ball. Syn Shenron later becomes Super Yi Xing Long (Omega Shenron in the Funimation dub) after he absorbs all the other Dragon Balls and gains the powers of the other Shadow Dragons, allowing his strength to increase 10x what it originally was.

He is the third and final arc villain in Dragon Ball GT and the main antagonist of the Shadow Dragons Saga.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He probably killed a lot of innocents before finally meeting Goku for the first time.
  • He killed his brother, Nuova Shenron, after he redeemed himself, calling him a worm, something that severely disgusted Goku.
  • He tries to kill Goku and the Z Fighters when they try to stop him.
  • Being outmatched by Gogeta, Syn uses the Negative Energy Sphere to destroy the entire Earth.
  • He managed to kill Goku after he launched an attack against the Earth, causing Goku to sacrifice himself in the process. This makes him one of the few villains in the series to successfully kill Goku, along with Piccolo and, indirectly, Cell and Raditz.
  • He painfully electrocuted Vegeta to near death by impaling with his spikes.
  • He tried to use his negative energy to slowly destroy all the planets, the galaxies, and eventually the entire universe.
    • While this doesn't quite meet the heinous standard of Zeno and Zamasu, it should be noted that they are from the canon continuation of a heinous standard within Dragon Ball that is not part of the GT continuity, meaning he doesn't have to be compared to them.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He has moral agency issues as he is made of evil thanks to the corruptibility of the Dragon Balls due to the number of wishes the heroes have made over the course of the series, although this is minor due to his sadism, not to mention that Nova Shenron can have some compassion of morality as shown with him and Goku, so there's evidence that this doesn't hold up that strongly.
  • He has some comedic moments, such as when Gogeta humiliates him in such a way that he throws confetti in his face after he threatens to launch a powerful Kamehameha with 5 of his clones. However, this is minor as he is taken seriously most of the time, especially when fighting others who are not vastly superior to him like how Gogeta was, and was never humorous on his own accord.

Trivia[]

  • He was initially rejected from being NPE and considered a Villanous Benchmark due to not quite meeting the standard of Dragonball and his other preventions being considered too severe, however he was reproposed and accepted as an NPE due to almost causing the biggest atrocity in the GT continuity post Z, which is not part of the Super continuity.
