Sylvia is a major antagonist in the 2013-2020 Japanese fantasy comedy light novel series KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! and its 2014 manga adaptation of the same name, as well as the main antagonist of the 2019 anime film adaptation KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! Legend of Crimson.

Sylvia was a creature known as a chimera, an organism capable of artificially manipulating the structure of her own body. As such, Sylvia possessed both male and female anatomy. She served as one of the eight generals of the Demon King's army, acting as the director of the Monster Enhancement Bureau.

Perhaps due to her incredible magical resilience, Sylvia was sent by the Demon King to annihilate the Crimson Demon Village and secure the Mage Killer weapon. The Crimson Demon Clan were a race of incredibly powerful mages who all possessed dramatic tendencies. Unfortunately, due to the strength of the Clan, Sylvia's armies were easily decimated and she struggled to make any progress.

Sylvia is voiced by Akeno Watanabe in the Japanese version of the anime and by Carrie Keranen in the English version. Watanabe has also voiced Tayuya in Naruto, Villetta Nu in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Kycilia Zabi in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, Sherry Cromwell in A Certain Magical Index, and Anna Williams in Tekken: Blood Vengeance. Keranen has also voiced Satsuki Kiryūin in Kill la Kill, Misato Katsuragi in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Sailor Galaxia in Sailor Moon, Murrue Ramius in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, and Carta Issue in Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • She seduces Kazuma by pounding him between her breasts, which at first, Kazuma is enjoying until he reveals she is half male and that something is poking onto his butt, that being her private parts and it traumatizes Kazuma.
  • She takes Kazuma hostage and forces him in a very seductive way to enter a cheat code for her to take the Mage Killer, which is a weapon that neutralizes all magic.
  • She uses the weapon to make herself bigger and turns herself into an ultimate weapon, destroying the storage room which locked the weapon in an explosion.
  • She tries to wipe out the Crimson Demon Village by setting it on fire, destroying several buildings and houses in the process.
  • She clearly doesn’t care if any of the villagers die as she says “rid the world of these crazy lunatics once and for all” while she’s destroying the village.
  • She successfully also rids all of the magic from the villagers so she can’t be defeated.
  • She tries to kill two of the villagers herself and states she’d only spare them if they were guys.
  • She tries to kill YunYun when she challenges her, chasing her around the area in a sadistic manner.
  • She combines both Verdia and Hans into herself to become more powerful and tries to crush Kazuma, Megumin, Aqua, Darkness, and YunYun.
  • When Wiz asks her if there’s anything she can do to resolve the issue in a peaceful manner, she declines and calls her and Vanir traitors and tries to pound her sword into Kazuma, Megumin, Aqua, Darkness, YunYun, Wiz, and Vanir.
  • She states to Wiz that she always hated her for a petty reason, just because she had the easiest life around the Devil King’s castle.
  • While Darkness is fighting her, she tries killing her while she is also being controlled by Vanir.
  • Even after dying her ghost gave Kazuma some PTSD nightmares from the experience for awhile.

What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • She is loyal to her master the Devil King.
  • She is honorable and praises her goblin army despite the fact they are incompetent. She offered Kazuma to defect to Devil King at first meaning she can see potential allies from her enemies.
  • She is insecure, as she believes she’s nothing without finding love for someone and that her life is meaningless without it.
  • Even after his betrayal, she genuinely loves Kazuma even before her death and in the afterlife, according to an next time segment she even enjoyed her "vaction".
