~ Starscream |
Starscream is the secondary antagonist of the Unicron Trilogy era of the Transformers franchise, serving as a supporting character in Armada, before becoming a supporting antagonist in Energon and one of the two main antagonists of Cybertron (alongside Megatron).
While originally a sympathetic character in Armada who even joins with the Autobots and gives up his life as a hero before eventually being revived and brainwashed back into villainy by Megatron, Starscream ends up breaking free and regaining his own free will, having embraced his own ambitions to be a threat of his own right as he plays Megatron and the Autobots to amass the Four Cyber-Planet Keys to absorb Primus' power and rule the universe as a god.
He is voiced by Michael Dobson.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- While an originally sympathetic character in Armada that had a soft spot for children and even gave up his life to save the universe from destruction, upon being resurrected in Cybertron, he not only goes back to villainy, but he abandons any sort of redeeming and sympathetic traits that would endanger children and the universe itself for his own ambition.
- Upon returning from the dead in Cybertron, Starscream breaks free from Megatron's brainwashing and regains his free will to be able to turn against Megatron, remaining evil of his own violation.
- In his pursuit for power, Starscream seeks to use the Cyber-Planet Keys and absorb Primus' power to be a god, knowing it is the only that could seal the Unicron Singularity, a blackhole that threatens the very annihilation of reality.
- Unlike the sub version, Starscream doesn't have plans to unleash the Decepticon armada onto Earth and destroy it, but it is only due to pragmatism due to him simply prioritizing the search for the Omega Lock and Earth's Cyber Planet Keys.
- In order to get the Omega Lock, Starscream shoots a missile at the human kids and Dr. Suzuki, endangering their lives as a distraction for Optimus Prime so he can claim the Omega Lock, showing how far gone he is from his Armada self.
- Upon absorbing some of Primus' power to be a giant, he unleashes his powers to kill the Autobots and Megatron's forces to proclaim his supremacy over the universe, clashing his powers with that of Megatron despite knowing the result will lead to the very destruction of Earth.
- When the heroes try closing the Uncron Singularity to save the universe, Starscream gets in the way to absorb Primus' power and tries to kill his creator, knowing he is the very robot mode of his home, Cybertron.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- While league's worse than every other villain in the entire trilogy, Starscream still fails the Heinous Standards to Megatron and Unicron, who have such massive rapsheets spanning across all the three series, waging & escalading a massive war, attempting to destroy countless planets across the cosmos before seeking the very annihilation of reality, it is impossible for Starscream to stack up to them.
Trivia[]
- He and his Prime Wars Trilogy version are the only versions of Starscream to count as Near Pure Evil.
- In Cybertron he went back to villainy which cause many fans to theorized that the one in Cybertron is a imposter and that the real Starscream died in Armada.
