~ Lord X greets the player. |
Sonic.exe (often shortened to X), later known as Lord X, is the titular main antagonist of JoeDoughBoi's Sonic.exe series and its sequel series, Soulless Sonic. He first appeared in the latter and JohnKun's 2023 fangame SONIC 2011.
He is an interdimensional eldritch entity that grew fascinated with the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, going so far as to morph his own body in the shape of its titular character. He created a haunted CD-ROM copy of the original 1991 game as a gateway to reap souls into his own pocket dimension, using a devoted cult to pass the game from victim to victim as a hope for him to one day have humanity all to himself.
He replaced both the original and MY5TCrimson versions of the character and is now considered the definitive canon interpretation. His 2011 version is voiced by DylanZeMuffin, while Lord X's voice actor is currently unknown, listed as "???????"
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- As of 2021, his form in-game was a decayed version of Sonic, due to X inhabiting his in-game sprite and causing rapid decomposition to it due to his anti-matter physiology, meaning that X was controlling an undead Sonic that he possibly killed.
- His diet consisted of the souls of his victims and the meat taken from his victims' corpses, and he ate out of pleasure due to being an energy being who didn't need sustenance.
- According to his creator he hates other EXEs shown in a pic where he yelled at EXE, especially those who used to be human, such as Needlemouse, Burnhog, X-Terion, and RE-RUN, claiming that they were "fakers".[1]
- In 2011, he brutally murdered Tails/Alan and Knuckles/Dave and erased Eggman/Paul's soul from existence with the black hole from his mouth.
- Adding onto this, it was heavily implied during his time as 2011 Sonic.exe, he did this process several times given when the player reached Sonic in the remake of the original Sonic.exe game, Tails would run away from him rather than going to him.
- In the Original and the Remake, Lord X was misanthropic as he viewed humanity as toys to him and wanted to claim them all as his playthings.
- While he might have a tragic past, as in the original game he mentioned something about "that faithful day." and talked about his birth in a negative light, the full implications of this were not given and wouldn't excuse the atrocities he had committed since then.
SONIC (PC PORT)[]
- Off screen, he tore off the twin tails of Tails.
- He changed the terrains of the game greatly, as Green Hill Zone is in a state of decay covered in dead animals and Angel Island was set aflame.
- Rene was soon taken to the Character Select Screen where Classic Knuckles and Classic Eggman appeared to be brutally mutilated, crying and begging to be freed from their torment.
- He teleported Tails to the Trypophobic Hell Zone where the floor was made out of screaming souls begging for help.
- At the end of the Zone, Tails met Cream, who had been physically and emotionally traumatized by Lord X into believing there was no hope for any of them.
- In the Red Cloud Zone Act 2, he chased Tails while revealing his insides out of sadism.
- He was shown to be a narcissist, as he had many statues of himself inside his castle. He also had the said statues come to life and chase Tails.
- When running into Tails again, he took him back to the title screen box, having Rene's face crying tears of blood. Lord X then burst open Tails' stomach and put Rene's Soul inside of it.
- The Game ended with a man in possession of the Sonic.EXE disc screaming until his eyes started to bleed, implying that Lord X killed him.
Sonic PC Port REMAKE[]
- After Alan restarted the game once it crashed, countless animals were shown to be dead, either being skinned alive or hanging by their guts.
- He rendered Green Hill Zone into a rotten wasteland.
- He set Angel Island on fire and turned the plants and trees into grotesque and monstrous versions of themselves.
- He started to chase Tails/Alan when he attempted to escape Angel Island. During the process, one of his Palm Trees ate both of his twin tails.
- After Tails/Alan accidentally tripped due to lack of balance from losing his tails, he starts crying, showing how much Lord X had traumatized him.
- When he finally catched Tails after the latter hit a dead end, he grabbed him by the neck, opened his mouth, and started pulling him in. The only reason Lord X didn't kill the fox then and there was thanks to the game suddenly crashing.
- As Alan reopened the game, Lord X revealed himself on the title screen, causing the game to crash again. The game would now be seen as an unauthorized copy of Sonic the Hedgehog, but Tails started sending note-board files, begging Alan for help. Lord X realized this and grew angrier every time the game is opened and closed.
- While unconfirmed, Lord X might be plotting to kill Sonic's other friends such as Amy, Cream, Sally, etc., and perhaps even Sonic himself.
- If the latter part was true, this meant that, unlike the original Sonic.exe who has a twisted fanaticism for the character, this version had shed off his care and fanaticism for Sonic later despite resembling him in terms of appearances.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He could be nice and affable, as he would give certain victims the vessel of a Sonic character however this wasn't very often thus making this a minor prevention.
Trivia[]
- Since the PC Port Remake is still in development, it is possible that Lord X's status could be affected.
- His counterpart from Sonic II Gaiden, Lord Mortis, can't qualify as NPE due to "redeeming" himself and becoming Sonic/Tom's guide in order to defeat Bandado.
- He used to be friends with Majin, MX, MCM Squidward and Hypno (from Hypno's Lullaby) before it was retconned out in order for him to be taken more seriously by his creator. However even if that redeeming quality was kept, it wouldn't effect his status too much due to them being sadists like him who did acts that were just as bad as his.
