“ | (laughter) Mine! The Pip Crystals! An unimaginable power, lost for centuries. With the power of the crystals, Earth will fall like a ripe melon! Queen Vexus herself will declare me a hero. No more "Uggy-Buggy Smytus" or "Smyty-Pants Fatbottom". I will be "Smytus, Destroyer of Worlds!" (laughter) | „ |

“ | Not so fast, XJ-9! You may have destroyed my mega weapon, and my ship, and my robot factory, and my troops, but I still have one thing up my sleeve. Literally! Self destruct, baby! Every supervillain's last resort! Say goodbye to your beloved flesh bags. This ends NOW! In ten seconds. | „ |
~ Smytus to Jenny Wakeman before activating self-destruct. |
Smytus is the secondary antagonist of My Life as a Teenage Robot, serving as a minor antagonist of Season 1, the secondary antagonist of Season 2 and a major antagonist of Season 3.
He is the (former) general of the Cluster Prime and second-in command of queen Vexus. He works under Queen Vexus, although he is often known to go off onto missions of his own even just to feed his own ego. When it comes to battling Jenny, he often has some tool or weapon which he uses to put him in a temporary upper and only to eventually be outwitted by Jenny's intellect.
He was voiced by Steve Blum, who also voiced Doom Ma Geddon in Regular Show and a disguised Lady Arkham in Batman: The Telltale Series.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He is the second-in command of Queen Vexus and Cluster Prime, being a ruthless commander of his army. He also wants XJ-9/Jenny to join the Cluster Prime and conquer Earth.
- In "Sister Sledgehammer", he kidnaps Jenny and brainwashes and transforms her into a massive doomsday machine by taking over her mind and body such as stealing her hands and feet, stab her body with two additional arms and stab her brain with a mind-control gem to hypnotize her permanently so she won't restore her senses. He also tried to prevent Jenny's family from saving her.
- In "Escape from Cluster Prime", when the human race stood up to the Cluster, he decided to blow up Earth instead with his atomic cannon. Once Jenny came back to save Earth from being blown up, he set himself to self-destruct as a last resort.
- In "Trash Talk", he attempted to use Jenny's power to rebuild his body after self-destructing.
- Despite being the secondary antagonist and his lower screen time, only appearing in four episodes, he is shown to be arguably more evil than Vexus, making a unique attempt to destroy the Earth while having no care for his people. Also, despite being her second-in-command, there's no indication he's truly loyal to her, as shown he disobeyed her orders to delay conquering Earth because Jenny wasn't there.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He has some comedic moments that detract from his villainy, even more so than Vexus:
- In "Dressed to Kill", he wore a wig and acted like a Ukrainian supermodel to trick a fashionista receptionist and Jean-Phillippe, neither of whom took his threats seriously at all, even being flattered by Jean’s praise, completely forgetting his mission. He then gets humiliated by the Crust Cousins when they used the power of the Pip Crystals to shrink him.
- At the end of "Sister Sledgehammer", Jenny interrupts his monologue when he vowed revenge and defeats him with only one kick.
Trivia[]
- Both Smytus and Vexus are the only My Life as a Teenage Robot villains to be Near Pure Evil. Ironically, Vexus' archenemy, Jenny, is Near Pure Good.
