My, my. Here come the fuzz.
~ Skinner's most famous quote.

Simon Skinner is the secondary antagonist of the 2007 action-comedy film Hot Fuzz.

He is the owner of the local supermarket, a member of the Neighborhood Watch Alliance, and the archenemy of Nicholas Angel.

He was portrayed by Timothy Dalton.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Unlike Frank, who has at least a somewhat understandable motive, Simon just wants Sandford to win village of the year, and considering he declares Sanford “my village” right before his defeat, it’s clearly a very selfish motivation.
  • Hired Michael Armstrong, to essentially be his bodyguard, and uses him to further his evil plans, despite him clearly not having the mental capacity to understand what Simon is doing.
  • Routinely makes vague threats of violence to people he doesn’t like.
  • He decided not to press charges against Peter Cooker solely so he could kill him later.
  • Sends Michael Armstrong to Nicholas’ home to try and kill him.
  • Even though he describes the murder of Leslie as a “terrible shame” it’s clear he has no remorse for what he did, only viewing her as an asset to achieve the village of the year award.
  • When the officers break into his shop, he attempts to have his workers kill them all.
  • When Nicholas and Danny manage to beat all of them, and head straight for him, he attempts to kill them himself, by firing a gun at them from a moving car.
  • After the car he’s in crashes, he holds a small child hostage with his gun, threatening to kill him if Nicholas gets any closer.
  • Attempts to gouge Nicholas’s eyes out while fighting with him in the mini town.
  • He makes one final attempt to kill Nicholas with a box cutter before getting impaled in the mini-villages church spire.
  • Even though Frank founded the NWA, its implied the most murders were done by either Simon or his trolley boy Michael, making him directly responsible for most, if not all the murders. And even if he or Michael didn’t commit all the murders, he arguably still stands out for attempting to kill a child, which is something no one else does in the movie.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He has two comical moments after the reveal, those being the swan swerve scene and his defeat, where after his head is skewered, he asks for some ice cream.
