Until next time.
~ Shockwave to Wheeljack.

Shockwave is a major antagonist of the Transformers: Cyberverse series, serving as the main antagonist of Season 1, a supporting antagonist of Season 2 and the secondary antagonist of the Season 3 premier, Battle for Cybertron. He is a cold and emotionless robot who serves as the chief scientist for the Decepticons and as one of its most depraved members, rivaling even the likes of Megatron and Starscream.

He was voiced by Ryan Andes.

Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He is a twisted experimenter, seen turning a Decepticon seeker into an abomination by adding an extra head to it. He also experimented on Clobber.
  • Helps Megatron by hacking into Vector Sigma despite knowing he will use it to create a Perfect Decepticon race that he will brainwash to be his mindless slaves.
  • Attempted to forge a memory in Bumblebee's mind in an effort to corrupt him.
  • During the end of Season 1, Shockwave tries to disable the magnetic field of the Earth, erasing all organic life. It is due to him that the Decepticons have made multiple attempts to destroy the Earth to find the Allspark.
  • Created a Planet Destroying Ray on the moon to destroy the Earth.
  • He later created rocket engines on the Moon, all on his own, to propel the Moon onto the Earth and break it into multiple pieces.
  • Unlike most of the other Decepticons, during the peace talks, Shockwave doesn't make an attempt to bring peace., shown to be frustratingly annoyed having to be near his former friend, Wheeljack, and relieved when a fight starts to break out.
  • He then confesses to Wheeljack that he is willing to go on and supplant Megatron if the latter's leadership proves to bring more failures.
  • Helped Megatron to try stealing the Allspark for himself from Starscream.
  • When Megatron orders him to destroy the Allspark, Shockwave gladly carries out his order by killing himself to have his spark corrupt the Allspark to destruction, nearly causing the end of all Cybertronian life.
  • Indirectly kills Cheetor, who sacrifices his life to purify the Allspark and save all of Cybertron.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Despite being willing to supplant him, Shockwave is genuinely loyal to Megatron, considering he says that "he is forced to supplant him.", implying he still won't do it remorselessly. This is further provided when Megatron has a major leg injury, Shockwave catches him from his fall and repeatedly assures him to undergo repair and is very willing to kill himself to fulfill Megatron's order to destroy the Allspark.
  • Considering Shockwave's overall emotionless and mostly unempathetic nature and having a major disdain for Seekers, Shockwave has a Pet-the-Dog moment when he promises Slipstream that if she succeeds in repairing the Space Bridge, he will defend her from Starscream's wrath.
