You weak pathetic fools, I've come for your souls!
~ Shao Kahn in the ending of the 1995 movie.

Shao Kahn is the overarching antagonist of the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie and the main antagonist of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Much like his game counterpart, he is the ruler of Outworld who desires to take over every realm there is.

He was portrayed by actor and bodybuilder Brian Thompson.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Prior to the events of the films, he and Shinnok had already conquered at least one realm and wiped out its entire populace.
  • Resurrected Sindel to force her to serve him.
  • Had the brainwashed Sindel try to kill her own daughter
  • Killed Johnny Cage by snapping his neck after pretending to agree to spare him and take Raiden instead, just for the sake of being cruel.
  • He kills several of his own minions for petty reasons such as only taking fighters captive instead of making them beg for their lives before killing them anyway or failing missions.
  • Attempted to wipe out all life on Earth so he and his father could rule over it
  • Killed Raiden, his brother.
  • Shows no remorse for his crimes and he repeatedly shows that he has no honor.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He genuinely seems to want to earn his father's approval. He goes out of his way to try and earn respect from his father despite how obvious it is that Shinnok doesn't care about either of his sons. It's also implied that the poor way his father treats him influenced his actions and how awful he became, as while abusing his minions, he repeats the same lines Shinnok said to him when expressing disappointment.

Trivia[]

  • This is the only version of Shao Kahn to be Near Pure Evil as most of them are full Pure Evils.
