You boys wanna smash some pumpkin? THEN LET'S SMASH SOME PUMPKIN!! HAHAHAHA!!!
~ The Scarecrow as he kills Hi Five Ghost and chases after the park workers

The Scarecrow also known as Killer Scarecrow is the main antagonist of "Jacked-Up Jack-o-Lantern", the second segment of the Regular Show Halloween special "Terror Tales of the Park III".

He's an scarecrow living in a field along with his wife. However, after the park workers arrived at the field and see them, ignoring the sign that said to leave them alone, they smash the female scarecrow's head right infront of the male Scarecrow's face, unaware that this would cause said Scarecrow to come to life and chase after the park workers for revenge.

He was voiced by Mark Hamill, who also voiced the Party Bus Driver in the same show, Py-Ro in Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, Undergrowth in Danny Phantom, Abraham Kane in Motorcity and Megatronus Prime in Transformers: Prime Wars Trilogy.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • After watching his wife's death, he grows vengeful and kills the park workers in gruesome ways.
  • He slowly turns Hi Five Ghost into a pumpkin and then smashes him on the ground, splattering his insides all over the ground, which causes the rest to run away.
  • He starts chasing all the remaining workers to do the same to them. The second victim being Mordecai, who he holds by the leg to turn the blue jay into a pumpkin, after this The Scarecrow stomps on him, killing Mordecai.
  • The third victims is Rigby, who he chases until Rigby get's cornered on the second floor of a farm shack, forcing Rigby to jump to save his life, but unfortunately he's caught by The Scarecrow, who turns him into a pumpkin to then lets him fall to his death.
  • After killing nearly everyone, he stands against Muscle Man. Muscle Man pleads for mercy and forgiveness, which would be all in vain since The Scarecrow holds Muscle Man by his head to slowly turn him into a pumpkin, and after successfully turning him into a pumpkin he then throws Mitch on the floor, smashing his body to pieces.
    • To make things worse, the workers are still conscious while they are pumpkin. Since Mordecai and Muscle Man were still able to move and even briefly talk when most of their body got turn into pumpkin.
  • After killing all the park workers, The Scarecrow collects the pumpkin seeds from their bodies and then plants them in the Pumpkin field. Couple days later, the scarecrow is happy to see his victims as fully-grown pumpkins that will be sold.
    • This essentially could be considered a fate worse than death, since not only they reincarnate into pumpkins, but they will be sold like any regular pumpkin and be sliced/killed while they are still conscious.
  • Wile he has some comedic moments, like the moments where he makes pumpkin related jokes before killing the workers. These are really minor and don't detract from his villainy and only show how sadistic he is.
  • His kills are unique and brutal enough to not be just "Kill the Heroes" villainy.
  • While on paper, watching his wife die in front of him sounds tragic and sympathetic, this isn't the case at all. Not only does The Scarecrow not intervene until after the her death, he never shows sadness or anything other than anger in response to it. The episode also portrays his actions as excessive by focusing on how the characters are trying to survive from the Scarecrow and making him super sadistic about his actions as stated previously. It comes across as a character who, although vengeful, not only goes too far in his revenge, but is happy in the villainy. As opposed to being ambiguously evil or having no choice in the villainy like other villains.
  • While there are other villains who do much worse than him, the Scarecrow still manages to pass the Heinous Standards given his low resources and how brutal the kills are. He also comes from a fictional tale, meaning he doesn't have to compete with the show's standards.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He genuinely loved his wife, even going to the point of calling her his "soulmate" and it was the main reason of why he killed Muscle Man, Rigby, Mordecai and Hi Five Ghost. And he seemed genuinely angry when Muscle Man insensitively said he could meet someone else.

Trivia[]

  • In the ending credits of the episode The Scarecrow makes his debut "Terror Tales of the Park III", he was named "Killer Scarecrow".
  • Mark Hamill, the Scarecrow's voice actor, is the same voice actor who played one of the main protagonists named Skips. Coincidentally, Skips is NPG while The Scarecrow is NPE.
