Taka, better known as Scar, is the main antagonist of The Lion King level of Kingdom Hearts II. He is the younger brother of Mufasa and the uncle of Simba. He is based off the character of the same name from Disney's 1994 animated film The Lion King.
He was voiced by James Horan, who also voiced Skull Face in Metal Gear Solid V.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He killed his brother, Mufasa, and attempted to kill his nephew, Simba (who was only a cub), via a wildebeest stampede so he could become king of the Pride Lands.
- Under his reign, the Pride Lands became a barren wasteland.
- He attempted to kill Sora and his friends.
- He forced a now-adult Simba into admitting that he was the cause of Mufasa's death, which was not actually true.
- He fought and attempted to kill Simba as an adult. After being defeated initially, he would then allow his anger and jealousy to consume him completely, transforming him into a Heartless that threatened to plunge the Pride Lands into eternal darkness.
- After he became a ghost, he would often haunt Simba asking him if he is really king.
- He attempted to attack his pregnant niece-in-law, Nala, and her friend, Pumbaa.
- He attempted to slaughter everyone in the Pride Lands as a giant monster.
- He has complete control of his actions as a Heartless, being able to speak and retain his form. There is no evidence he lost his moral agency as a ghost either.
- Just like his original counterpart, he has next to no redeeming qualities.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- As awful as he is, his worst crimes are not treated with enough weight. The fact that his attempt to eat Sora would have been cannibalism is not remarked upon, and no emphasis is placed on the fact that Nala is pregnant when Scar is about to attack her and Pumbaa (it is also unclear if he even knew that she was pregnant).
- He failed the heinous standards to Maleficent, Frollo, and MCP.
Trivia[]
- He, alongside his Remake counterpart, are the two only versions of Scar to be Near Pure Evil, which is ironic since most versions of Scar are absolutely evil and have no redeeming qualities.
- However, the Remake Scar was approved due to having redeeming qualities despite passing the heinous standards, while this version was approved due to failing the heinous standards despite having no redeeming qualities.
- He's the only NPE from The Lion King to come from a video game.
