SCP-106 is the villainous main protagonist of the SCP tale Once But Not Now, while also being a major antagonist in the SCP universe.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He has tortured and killed countless innocent people. While he does need to eat to survive, he does not need to torture them, and he takes sadistic joy in the torture. Furthermore, there is no proof that torture does anything for his hunger.
  • The first action he takes after waking up from his hibernation is entering a human home, kidnapping an infant, and eating it alive. While he was very hungry, it is still a horrific act that cannot be justified, and he shows no remorse for this.
  • Even back in his days with his tribe, he killed another member of his tribe, it is never explained why he did this. It is also heavily implied that the tribe member he killed was his father.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He has a genuinely tragic backstory, as he is the last member of an extinct and long-forgotten species and he had to watch as his tribe died out due to hunger and lack of food. He went into hibernation and when he woke up, he found that he was completely alone. We see that he thinks of his tribe all the time and although his actions heavily downplay his tragedy, it is still treated with sympathy and the tale goes out of its way to make the reader feel sorry for him.
  • He is shown to care about his wife and children, as in the tale, he is shown recalling them fondly and lovingly.
