Ho-ho! Figured it out, have you? A bit of your depth, aren't you, little ones?
~ Rolando after revealing himself to Blitzø and Millie.
Looks like someone's trying to ruin our good time. That was a nice heart-to-heart y'all had earlier. Be a shame if you went and ruined it, like you always do!
~ Rolando taunting Blitzø before possessing his body to kill Millie.

Rolando (misspelled as Ronaldo in the captions) is the main antagonist of the Season 2 episode "Ghostf**kers" from the black comedy web cartoon Helluva Boss.

He is an infestor demon from Hell that lives on Earth with a human disguise, running the One-Star Wonder Hotel where he brutally murders the guests that stay there. He comes into conflict with Blitzø and Millie once they come to find the killer of their newest client, Rita.

He was voiced by John Waters.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He came to Earth so he could, for an unspecified amount of time, kill humans in his One-Star Wonder Hotel by luring them, mentally torturing and then brutally murdering them. He has at least four confirmed victims, three of which were shown on photos. The murders were quite brutal, as one victim (Rita) was decapitated, and the other was grotesquely torn apart as shown in the photos.
    • He also indirectly mentions having killed one of his employees by framing it on the "ghost".
    • While it's never explicitly stated that he tortured his victims, it's a very easy assumption to make as it adds up well with what we're shown on-screen, and Millie mentions that infestor demons come to Earth to torment human minds.
  • When Blitzø is alone following after an argument with Millie, he torments him by forcing him hallucinate several deceased versions of Millie that each symbolize the gruesome fates she could have suffered throughout the series' events, who each tear him down and point out his insecurities about driving people away and worsening other people's lives just by meeting them. He then makes Blitzø have a vision of his dead mother and cruelly shows her burning to death, mocking how the imp accidentally killed her in a fire, while taunting him.
  • When Millie comforts Blitzø and makes him realize the "ghost" is an infestor demon, he reveals himself and prepares to kill them due to discovering his secret, resulting in a fight. He brutally beats the duo throughout the battle and then taunts them about being "poor assassins".
  • He possesses Blitzø's body and forces him to relive his most traumatic experiences through a cinema screen, while taunting him about it and licking his neck. When Millie becomes worried and rushes to Blitzø's aid, he taunts him one final time by telling him he'll ruin the heartfelt moment they just shared and uses his own body to try and kill Millie.
  • While fighting Millie, he drops a lot of racist and prejudiced remarks about her, mentioning her Wrath Ring heritage and mocking her imp species by calling her a backwards and inbred hick that should've stayed at her family's farm and that killing is the only thing her kind is good for. He also tries to ruin Blitzø and Millie's bond by claiming everything he says is how Blitzø himself truly feels about her.
  • While the Hellaverse is a dark comedy universe, this isn't a problem for Rolando due to him being the only fully serious antagonist so far, having zero comedic moments unlike actual major villains like Striker, Crimson, Adam, and even Valentino.
    • While his confusion at being thrown into water by Blitzø can be seen as comedic, it's quickly nullified by his brutal death, which itself isn't played for laughs.
  • While the Hellaverse has a very high Heinous Standard, Rolando stands out enough due to his lower resources, brutal murders, mental torture and "And I Must Scream" fates being unique for the series and being the only infestor demon seen so far.
  • While he's a demon from Hell, he does possess a clear moral agency as it's been shown demons have the potential to do good.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Evil?[]

  • While he stands out just enough to count as Near Pure Evil due to his unique crimes and limited screentime, Rolando still fails the overall Heinous Standard for the following reasons:
    • The full number of his victims is unknown, meaning that he fails the standards to Blitzø and Millie, who both have killed far more people than him.
    • It's stated that it's common for infestor demons to come to Earth and torture humans, meaning he also fails the system standard of his own species even if he was the only one seen on-screen.

Trivia[]

  • He and Adam are the Hellaverse's only Near Pure Evils so far.
    • Rolando is also the one to come from Helluva Boss.
