His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Orchestrated a break out at Pena Duro prison. During which, it's implied he cut the face off the warden.
- Hired Catwoman to steal from Lourve.
- Made weapon deals with Rumi Mori.
- Formed the Pact, a group of dangerous super villains with Harley Quinn, John Doe, Bane, Catwoman and Mr. Freeze.
- Hacked the cell phones of key members of the Agency, including Waller and Avesta, and planned to play a signal which would send a missile to their location, which would kill them.
- Riddler heads to Mori's casino and confronts Mori. Mori orders him to leave and a security guard attempts to remove but Riddler slits his throat. Riddler has his men take everyone hostage and puts Mori in a death trap. For every answer Mori gets wrong, one of his fingers get cut off and then his head will eventually be cut off as well.
- Batman arrives and does battle with Riddler, saving the hostages and Mori. Riddler escapes but gives Batman a puzzle box, telling him if he doesn't solve it in time, people are going to get hurt. It turns out the box is actually a record vinyl that plays a sound wire and gives to Lucius Fox to investigate it.
- However, when Lucius discovers what the vinyl really is, it explodes and kills him, which Riddler takes great joy in taunting Batman about it.
- Kidnapped special agent Mario Hernandez and beat him before promising to let him go if he solves his puzzle, only to make the puzzle nearly impossible to solve due to him hiding one of his most crucial clues behind a deadly trap which would have burned Hernandez to death, then blasting a deafening noise right near Hernandez's ears, before chopping his fingers off when he got the riddle wrong.
- When Batman and Gordon arrived at his base and nearly solved his puzzle, he used his ultrasonic device on them, which could have deafened and potentially killed them, before mocking Batman about Lucius' death in front of Gordon.
- After learning of his location through either Eli Knable or Mori, Batman heads to the Lady of Dublin, alongside Agent Ivesta from the Agency and sees he has trapped four agents in murder boxes. Batman knocks out Riddler's goons but the he and Avesta are then trapped in a box.
- Riddler then presents Batman with a sadistic choice; either get his riddles correct and Riddler will slowly damage Avesta's hearing with the intent to kill her and Batman (to the point he makes her deaf) or get his riddles wrong and he will murder each of the four agents.
- Regardless of what the player chooses, Riddler will always taunt Batman about what he did. If Batman sacrificed the Agents, Riddler will taunt Batman for breaking his rules to never kill. If Batman sacrificed Avesta's hearing, Riddler will call Batman out on hurting an innocent woman to win.
- No matter what the player allows to happen, Batman will break him and Avesta free using Tiffany Fox's drones. Riddler will attempt to launch all of his missiles at Gotham City after Batman gains the upper hand but is defeated before he can. Riddler wonders why his friends didn't show up, as he set the whole thing up to show them it. However, just as he realizes John set him up and never told them to met him, he is shot in the neck with a poison dart by an unknown assassin, later revealed to be Lucius Fox's daughter, Tiffany Fox.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- It's clear that he genuinely had a friendship with Catwoman and Bane. Catwoman mentioned that when she worked with Riddler, he was always soft towards her and was nowhere near as horrible as he was in the present day. Riddler also wanted Catwoman to join the Pact with him. Bane was shown to to be grateful to Riddler for saving him from prison. Both mourned his death after he died. Riddler even made his final plan with the intent to impress his friends.
- He is strongly implied to have some impaired agency due to being insane. When Bruce and Alfred were looking at effects from the Lotus virus in Riddler's blood, they discovered that it causes "irreparable damage to a subject's brain chemistry," and "drives you insane."
Trivia[]
- He is the only version of the Riddler to be Near Pure Evil.
- Many consider this version of Riddler to be one of the most evil versions of Riddler ever by far due to causing Lucius' death and being a serial killer who nearly ends up killing hundreds of Gotham. However, he's not as evil as the Arkhamverse version of Riddler, who is Pure Evil. This is because Telltale Riddler suffers from actual moral agency issues due to his insanity, unlike the former, who is also insane yet his mental health issues are overshadowed by his immense ego. And Arkhamverse Riddler doesn't care for anyone but himself. Not only does he have a higher kill count than Telltale Riddler, but he doesn't have any respect for Batman or his fellow Rogues whatsoever.
