~ Rhulk commences the final Raid encounter against the Guardians

Rhulk is an important antagonist in the Bungie-developed FPS-MMO video game Destiny 2. He is the first Disciple of the Witness and has performed an untold number of brutal tasks in its name, drowning entire worlds in The Deep in order to bring out the Final Shape. He serves as the final boss of the Vow of the Disciple raid.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • When he was a young boy, he severed his clan's pet Yhadt and felt powerful as a result.
  • He brutally killed his entire clan out of revenge.
  • He destroyed his people and his homeworld along with them.
  • Disoriented the Ahslid race with fear and paranoia in order to make them more vulnerable to manipulation and subjugation by The Witness.
  • Stalked the Ahslid for 14 years.
  • Killed many great Ahslid warriors over an extended period of time in order to deprive them of their defenders.
  • Tore a rib out of a benevolent creature known as the Leviathan, a disciple of the Traveler which warned people away from the parasitic Worm Gods.
  • Abducted Xita, the Nurturing Worm, by dragging her out of the depths of Fundament and onboard his Pyramid ship.
  • Forcibly incubated Worm larvae through Xita in order to birth the Hive species.
  • Uses Xita's life force as a power source for his own personal superweapon, The Upended.
  • Uses living Worm segments from Xita's body to create a new breed of Scorn, undead Eliksni/Fallen who are corrupted by Dark Ether.
  • Tried to forcibly extract information about the Light from Ghosts.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He had a bit of a tragic past in that he grew up in that he grew up in the middle of a civil struggle amongst his people, raised by a father who lacked any sort of principle. However, considering that he killed his clan's pet as a result of seeing his father violently defend himself against some Stalkers, and also to see what it would feel like, this doesn't count for much.
  • After destroying his homeworld and his people, Rhulk initially felt a great deal of remorse for his actions up to that point. He expressed horror at his own cruelty, calling himself a monster, saying that his family was right to be concerned about those who suffered at his hands, and even demanding that The Witness stop making him relive his past, denouncing it as madness. Even when talking about destroying Lubrae to the Witness in one of his memories during a post-Raid mission, he recounts with despair how Lubrae "died." Unfortunately, The Witness has, at this point, convinced Rhulk that his actions were necessary, asking him how he now felt in the Darkness' embrace, to which he says, "Relief." As a result, this crisis of conscience is essentially lost on Rhulk and he went on to subjugate entire peoples for The Witness in the name of enacting the Final Shape, so his remorse is no longer that much of a prevention.
  • He displays complete loyalty to the Witness and is eager to serve their cause.
