Renner Theiere Chardelon Ryle Vaiself is an supporting character in the Overlord light novel/manga/anime series. The daughter of King Ramposa III, Renner became disillusioned with her kingdom and decided to betray it in order to ascend as an Imp to have Climb for herself with the help of Ainz Ooal Gown and the Nazarick Kingdom.

She is voiced by Kiyoko Yasuno in Japanese.

What Makes Her Close To Being Pure Evil?[]

In General[]

  • While she did do benevolent acts such as doing major reforms all of it was out of pragmatism to look good in front of Climb so she looks like his ideal princess and subverted it anyways when she betrayed her Kingdom.
  • While being an Princess to entire nation may sound like she got an ton of resources to do worse on paper, she has much less power compared to her father, brothers and the nobles due to Re-Estate's power divided between them which has her have less political power as a result, meaning she has lower resources even then and she used every bit of it she had in her schemes plus also relies on her cunning as well, so she doesn't suffer from holding back resources to do worse because of it.

Overlord[]

  • She openly admitted to her brother and Marquaue Raven she wish to chain climb up.
  • She executed all the victims saved by Climb, Brain and Sebas Tian saved (Excluding Tuare since Sebas took her back himself) who may potentially fall in love with Climb.
  • Approached by Demiurge and easily sold her Kingdom out in return to become an Imp and hog Climb to herself while ensuring he isn't killed.
    • This makes her responsible for the events of Demonic Disturbance since she sent info to Nazarick.
  • She gave Nazarick the idea to starve her kingdom into a civil war by making the nobility attack their own but due to Philip being too stupid to the point of being manipulated and ended up attacking an Sorcerer Kingdom, she had no problem with it being altered to be total destruction of the nation instead.
  • It was implied she poisoned entire orphanage she made to turn into an Imp meaning she committed mass pedicide.
  • She shown no remorse for her brothers being killed and happily killed her own father to prove her loyalty while making it look like she was controlled by Demiurge to fool Climb.
  • She not only felt literal no remorse but said "All it took is to sell one messily Kingdom to get it" meaning she had no problem throwing her entire kingdom under the bus to get what she wanted.
  • Not only she is an Karma Houdini since she remains unpunished for her actions but got everything she want while managing to make the man she love not hate him meaning she wins.
  • While the Overlord series has an very jacked up high heinous standard, Renner stands out for her lacking superhuman abilities like everyone else while relying on cunning and planning, the fact she sold her entire kingdom out to keep one person to herself while she not only felt no remorse for her people and her siblings lost but killing her own father to prove her loyalty and saw it worth it to pass the heinous standard and stand out.
    • While she did become an Imp which would give her abilities, that was after she already did her acts so it don't hurt her status at all.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Despite how twisted and lustful her love to Climb, she has enough some minor genuine care to him as she got mad at maids making fun of him and when Albedo said she will permanently kill Climb and make her watch if Renner try to turn on Ainz Ooal Gown and the Sorcerer Kingdom this shows she genuinely cares Climb enough to be threatened by it to swear loyalty to Nazarick.
    • Her swearing loyalty might be under pragmatism or an pet dog moment but since she got what she want in the end, hence she sees no value in betraying Nazarick anyways making it an minor prevention.
  • She genuinely gets along with Demiurge and Albedo as she talked with the latter about their love interests Ainz Ooal Gown and Climb respectively.

Trivia[]

  • She is the second Overlord Near Pure Evil after Demiurge.
  • While in her last appearance she did convinced Climb to become an Demon like her and he agreed but has yet to be confirmed if he done it yet. If confirmed and revealed she made Climb become an Demon, it will make her more worse.
