You're not even worth a bullet.
~ Randy Slade to Robert Adams

Randy Slade is the posthumous overarching antagonist of the Criminal Minds episode 'Painless'.

He was a psychopathic high school student who committed a school shooting before committing suicide by detonating a homemade bomb.

He was portrayed by Hudson Thames.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He decided to kill his classmates even though they had never done anything to him; he simply wanted to kill them for the sake of killing out of a twisted desire to prove his power.
  • He manipulated Lewis Ramsey into providing him SEMTEX materials from his father's construction company which Randy intended to use as a part of his plan.
    • He intended to kill Ramsey during the massacre so he could take all of the glory for himself.
  • He would force his 'friend' to lock the cafeteria doors so that no one can escape before carrying out his massacre.
  • He guns down 4 of his own peers all while bragging about his unhinged god complex.
    • He would sadistically make each of his peers look him in the eye, he would shoot them dead if they didn't do so.
  • He would take out the bomb he made from the SEMTEX materials he acquired to then proceed with a suicide bombing, attempting to kill everyone who was present in the cafeteria (which was 44 people).
  • Despite his death, he would have a posthumous influence with his family becoming public disgraces, students and teachers still traumatized from the event and result in the things that occur with the main antagonist (Robert Adams) of the episode.
    • Despite his lack of screen-time and limited body-count, he manages to do the absolute worst with the resources available to him with his attempted body count being even higher than many other villains in the series who have more resources available to them.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • His “niche” of a school shooting isn’t unique for Criminal Minds as most real life criminals are canon to the show (including mass murderers and spree killers) and therefore he is not unique enough to pass the high heinous standard.

Trivia[]

  • Randy Slade is one of the few villains in the entire series to be entirely posthumous, being dead long before the events of the episode took place.
