Dell Conagher, better known as the RED Engineer, is the main antagonist of the Team Fortress 2 fananimation Spy's Disguise. He's the cruel and vengeful engineer of the RED Team who seeks revenge against the BLU Spy due to the latter continuously killing him.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?

• After the BLU Spy kept killing him, he developed a personal vendetta against him and became extremely violent, to the point of even attacking the RED Spy.
• He disabled the respawn for the RED Team and implicitly for the BLU Team too, endangering everyone (including himself) to a permanent death.
• He killed the RED Pyro, thinking that they were the BLU Spy.
• He clearly didn't care about his teammates dying.
• He shot at the BLU Spy's best friend, the BLU Engineer, to lure the latter into a trap and have him sapped by the RED Spy, and later seemingly killed the BLU Engineer (although the latter was revealed to have survived thanks to a Dead Ringer).
• Using a mech suit, he directly attempted to kill the BLU Spy and chased him to Sawmill, where a meeting of BLU Engineers was happening. Here, he massacred all of them as he looked for the BLU Spy.
• He was shown to have a sadistic personality.
• Even after his death, he left a big psychological impact on the BLU Spy, who had hallucinations about him.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?

• He was genuinely insane best shown when he killed the RED Pyro while mistaking them for the BLU Spy due to a hallucination. However, this is a minor prevention due to his sadism.

Trivia

• There are heavy implications that Spy's Disguise takes place in the same universe as another one of Fortress Films' SFM animations, Emesis Blue, and that the RED Engineer is the same person as Dell Conagher, the deceased Engineer shown during the film's bar scenes. If this were confirmed to be true, this would likely affect the Engineer's status in both this wiki as well as Dell's on the Neutral Characters Wiki.
