~ Quillgin after shooting Santa. |
“ | Quillgin: It didn't have to end this way, but you ruined my dream! If we made a box for everyone, then no one would be fighting over them. Did you ever think of that!? Ha. I bet you did. If everyone had everything they wanted, then why would they need... Santa? Santa: It's not like that, Quillgin! Quillgin: Enough! You ruined my life's work, now I'm gonna ruin yours. [opens box] Give me what I desire most: the destruction of Christmas forever! (images of dynamite appear on Christmas decor all around the world appear, and the detonation switch appears inside the box) Heheheh, one push of this detonator and it's all gone. |

~ Quillgin using the box to wish for Christmas's destruction. |
Quillgin is the main antagonist of the Regular Show episode "The Christmas Special". He is an elf, who was a former scientist at Santa Claus' Toy Factory and who originally designed the best gift of all, which could give the person who opened it whatever they wanted, but it turned out to be dangerous (turning its owners crazy) due to the usage of dark magic in its creation. After getting his gift rejected, Quillgin later betrayed him, became Santa's arch-enemy and tried to destroy Christmas.
He was voiced by Thomas Haden Church.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- When Santa ordered the destruction of all his research, he sought to destroy all of Christmas in revenge.
- He tried to kill Santa Claus after he snatched the magic box from him, which he actually would have done if Santa hadn't been wearing a bulletproof vest on his stomach.
- He tied up Gene and his Forest Rangers when they tried to stop them from tracking down the Park employees to East Pines, where the lava pit that could destroy the magic box he created, and left them there without means to be freed, though they somehow escaped given their appearances in other episodes.
- Showed no care for his henchmen when they all fell to their deaths at the cavern's abyss when Benson lost the pinball game on purpose to slow Quillgin down.
- When Mordecai, Rigby, Benson, Muscle Man, Pops, Skips and Hi Five Ghost from the park find the box Quillgin was looking for, he tries to kill them all.
- When he finally manages to get his hands on the box, he attempts to make a wish to destroy all of Christmas itself, planting explosive on everything related to Christmas and in all the places that celebrate it, which could potentially have endangered the lives of countless innocents if they were to be detonated.
- While the reason he turned evil was because Santa Claus destroyed his life's work, this doesn't excuse his actions as Santa had done it for a good reason because the box drove people crazy and they attacked everything in its wake, and Quillgin instead of understanding that decided to go so far as destroying all of Christmas and potentially endangering the lives of thousands of millions of innocents, who didn't have anything related to it.
- Unlike other villains in the series, Quillgin has no redeeming qualities, is never played for sympathy and is taken 100% seriously.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- While his attempt to destroy Christmas and potentially endanger the lives of countless innocents would make him heinous enough by series standards considering his resources, ultimately, it's unclear just how powerful the explosives are and how many people he will kill if it does explode, or even kill someone. And even if they really were deadly, it's not entirely clear if Quillgin intended to kill several innocents or if he was even aware of it (although it's quite likely he wouldn't care as long as Christmas is destroyed), so the full extent of his atrocity is not entirely clear. Because of this, he has trouble passing the series' Heinous Standards.
