Professor Pericles is the main antagonist of the animated series Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated.
He is the former pet parrot of the original Mystery Gang and the one responsible for its disappearance alongside Mayor Fred Jones, Sr. After so many years of imprisonment, Pericles escapes from prison and sets himself on releasing the Evil Entity with the assistance of Mr. E to gain ultimate power. He is Scooby-Doo's evil counterpart.
He was voiced by the late Udo Kier in English and German.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Once a loyal member of the original Mystery Inc., he would betray them to get the Planispheric Disk and team up with Fred Jones Sr. in blackmailing the kids into leaving town by threatening them with various documents implicating their parents in various crimes until Fred Jones Sr. would later backstab the parrot by causing his left eye to have a scar and throw him on a rock as he would accuse Pericles of a crime by sending him to the Crystal Cove’s Animal Asylum.
- While being imprisoned in the Crystal Cove’s Animal Asylum while meeting with the new Mystery Inc. gang (excluding Scooby), Pericles has secretly duct tape Officer Johnson’s hand with his stun gun causing him to get electrocuted. He then gives tips to the gang about clues that will lead them to the cursed secret that feeds on Crystal Cove, foreshadowing his twisted sadistic mind on planning to destroy them, while Officer Johnson calls off the visit to be over. Pericles has also managed to escape from his imprisonment in the Animal Asylum while Officer Johnson informed Sheriff Bronson Stone that he was the only exceptional animal to escape.
- He secretly gave Amanda Smythe, disguised as the Greek God Aphrodite, the love potion formula that influenced everyone in Crystal Cove to fall in love and have the town destroyed in the process so he could trick Scooby into obtaining items to help find the other pieces of the Planispheric Disks while using the facade of making a an antidote to defeat Smythe.
- While he decided to help the gang after watching them get attacked by one of Mr. E's minions, Alice May, it was only because he still needed them alive.
- He went to the house of the C.E.O, of Destroido Corp and henchman, Ed Machine, and has him killed to send Mr. E a message.
- Took over his old friend Abigail Gluck’s underwater robot factory and reprogrammed her army of German humanoid robots, the Kriegstaffebots. He then caused the factory to explode with Cassidy Williams and the gang in it before departing with the last piece of the Planispheric Disk, leading to the former's death who gave up her life to help the gang escape.
- He was very fond of Krampus terrorizing children when he was young and could still hear their screams, showing his sadistic tendencies.
- He created piranha/bee/cow hybrids to devour Crystal Cove in order to find the Planispheric Disk. He then ordered Fred's parents to shoot down the helicopter Mystery Inc. was on with a bazooka. Though the gang survived and managed to defeat the herd by capturing its queen and lurking them outside of town, Scooby's love-interest Nova was seriously injured from falling from the helicopter and stuck in a coma, causing her to be hospitalized. His herd also destroyed several local farms around Crystal Cove and killed at least twenty-nine Destroido scientists.
- He berated Fred's parents Brad Chiles and Judy Reeves and threatened them to get the disc back "before people get hurt." This resulted in his parents burning City Hall with invisibility suits.
- When Mr. E attempted to get rid of Pericles after seeing how insane he was, Pericles planted a mutant cobra poison larva in Mr. E's spine and presses a button to agonizingly spread their poisonous venom inside Ricky's body to force him into cowing down to his control.
- He tricked Fred Jr. into thinking he was in an apocalyptic future by having his parents undergo plastic surgery, with his mother posing as a future version of his girlfriend Daphne Blake and his father posing as a clone version of his son, to trick him into showing her where they hid the Planispheric Disks.
- Threatened to harm Daphne if Fred didn’t give him the disk. After recovering the disk, he flies back Destroido Corp and makes the preparations to free the Evil Entity.
- He kidnapped the Crystal Cove citizens and forced them to mine for the doorway to other worlds underneath Crystal Cove. He then ordered Mr. E to have the Kriegstaffebots kill all of the enslaved Crystal Cove citizens once the entranced was found.
- When Mr. E refused to do it out of genuine disgust and attempts to put a stop to Pericles' plan, Pericles used his remote to release more poison into his spine to force him into ordering the robots to execute everyone. While Fred’s parents agreed that Mr. E should be punished for betraying them, even they are shocked when Pericles does this simply because Mr. E doesn’t want to commit mass murder.
- Used Marcie Fleach (also known as Hot Dog Water), a teenaged child, as a hostage to get the Mystery gang to open the door to the sarcophagus of the Evil Entity before having her executed in cold-blood after she tried to hold him hostage.
- He has one of his Kriegstaffebots throw Daphne into gate hole, which would have killed her if Fred had not plugged the hole.
- He released the Evil Entity and willfully became its vessel believing he would obtain its power.
- After "getting" the Evil Entity's power inside him, he intended to kill all of Mystery Incorporated, possibly even including Mr. E, Brad Chiles and Judy Reeves as they had no more use for him, only to be killed by the Entity and his body mutated into its personal body instead.
- Unlike others corrupted by the Entity (except Brad and Judy), he is not only the only one to know of its existence, but considering him outright saying "the world will change as we know it" and that he knows the Entity will absorb Scooby to materialize on Earth and begin its plan, it's clear Pericles is aware the danger the Entity poses, leading to the entire population of Crystal Cove being devoured.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- His moral agency is questionable at best, as he only became a greedy traitor because of the Evil Entity's influence, which was so deep it ended up destroying his good side as a result. As seen in the alternate timeline, had it not been for the Entity's influence at all, Pericles would've been a decent and friendly parrot.
