Dr. Olivia Octavius, also known as Doctor Octopus, is the secondary antagonist of Sony Pictures Animation's 18th feature film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and a minor flashback character in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
She was voiced by Kathryn Hahn.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- She created the Super-Collider to use to bring Kingpin's family back, despite knowing they won't survive outside of their dimension, and while she did warn him that using it could destroy multiple dimensions, after Kingpin said he still wanted to go through with it, she didn't try to stop him and even tried to help him activate it showing she may have faked her worry.
- She tried to kill Peter B. Parker by suffocating him after pretending to be nice to him, before trying to kill him and Miles to get the data that they stole to create a flash drive to stop the collider.
- During her faux affable nature, she already acted really disrespectful to Peter B., staring at him, touching his big belly and removing his mask.
- She nearly choked Tombstone to death while also making Kingpin say yes to using the collider despite the danger it poses by claiming it would give him as many families as he would like, even though she knows the families won't survive outside their dimension.
- Although this was out of self-defense as Tombstone drawer his guns out first, her reaction was still extreme and only relented after Kingpin quietly ordered him to yield.
- She tried to kill the Spider-Gang and Aunt May at Aunt May's house.
- She ran the Super-Collider while Kingpin used a memorial for Spider-Man as a cover-up.
- Her actions of helping Kingpin activate the Collider resulted in the Collider's dark matter energy to permanently close over Jonathan Ohnn's skin and allow him to generate portals throughout his body, turning him into multiversal threat, the Spot.
- She tried to kill Peter and Miles when they tried stopping the Super Collider.
- She tried to kill Peter, Miles and Gwen before being hit by a truck.
- Despite helping Kingpin, she only does it to further her own goals and not out of care for him.
- While she does mention having friends that call her "Liv", it is unknown if she's genuinely affable towards them and given her faux affable nature towards Peter, it could be the case here.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Her defeat is played for laughs as it is a bait and switch gag where it looks like it's going to be a huge battle between her, Peter, Miles and Gwen only for her to be hit by a truck that came out of nowhere as an anti-climax. This ultimately detracts from her villainy, as it subverts a potentially heinous moment.

- While Olivia Octavius is currently Near Pure Evil, there's a chance that this may change if she returns in Beyond the Spider-Verse.
- She is one of two versions of Doctor Octopus to be Near Pure Evil, the other being Doctor Octopus from The Spectacular Spider-Man.
- Doctor Octopus is, alongside Kingpin, one of the two Spider-Man Near Pure Evils to come from an animated film.
