Non is a major antagonist in the Arrowverse, serving as the main antagonist in Season 1 of Supergirl.
He is the right-hand to his wife Astra's group of rogue Kryptonians imprisoned on Fort Rozz for terrorist actions on Krypton. After crashlanding on Earth, Non and his wife plot to enact Myriad to enslave the populace, with Non eventually continuing on his own following Astra's demise. Unlike his wife, Non was far more unsympathetic and callous in the pursuit of his goals.
He was portrayed by Chris Vance.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He murdered a security guard during his and Astra's terrorist actions. Unlike Astra, Non never appeared to regret it.
- He and Astra attempted to use a program called Myriad to turn all of Krypton into their mindless slaves, with Myriad explicitly being stated to rob people of their free will, individuality and spirit by shutting down the parts of the brain that cause optimism and hope, essentially a fate worse than death. Once on Earth, the two plotted to do the same.
- Unlike Astra, he had no qualms about trying to kill his own niece, Kara aka Supergirl and didn't care for her at all.
- He launches a bloody battle at Lord Technologies against the DEO that leads to several casualties.
- He kidnaps DEO director "Hank Henshaw" (really Martian Manhunter) and murders one of his own men for not being able to read his mind.
- Despite offering a prisoner exchange of Hank in return for Astra, he immediately betrays the heroes and stages an ambush in an attempt to wipe them all out before being forced to back down by Astra.
- He uses the Black Mercy on Supergirl, incapacitating and trapping her within her greatest fantasy that she was forced to let go of if she wanted to regain consciousness, which caused deep emotional pain and risked death regardless as the Black Mercy was programmed to violently kill their host if attempts are made to remove it.
- He promised to kill Kara following Astra's demise even though it was not her fault in any way.
- He successfully used Myriad to enslave National City to his will and forces several of Kara's friends and colleagues to jump off of buildings, with Kara sadly not being able to save all of them, before promising to kill everyone Kara loves or even knows if she continued to stand against him.
- He forced a brainwashed Alex to fight Kara in order to force one sister to kill the other.
- Despite initially being a well-intended extremist that genuinely seemed to believe he was helping humanity through Myriad, he subverts this in the finale when after Kara foils his brainwashing plans, he sets Myriad to its highest frequency to slowly torture humanity to death out of spite and leave Kara hero of a dead Earth.
- His relationship with Indigo is of mutual lust and love of violence rather than genuine care, seeing as how he nearly strangled her to death and engages in (self-serving anyway) sadistic acts of violence as his sole way of "pleasing" her.
- He plotted to conquer other worlds after leaving Earth and terrorize the galaxy with his army.
- Although he faces defeat, it's unknown if he was arrested or even died due to no longer moving. If he had died, unlike with Astra's death, it isn't played with sympathy as he deserves it for everything he's done.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He sincerely loved his wife and defended her memory from Indigo following Astra's death.
- He has a small moment of honor when he calls a brief truce with Kara so they could both mourn Astra's death.
