Nil Spaar

Nil Spaar is a supporting yet pivotal antagonist in the Star Wars franchise, serving as the main antagonist of the Black Fleet Crisis novels and a posthumous antagonist for the rest of the franchise. He is the genocidal leader of the Yevetha who wishes to destroy all non-Yevetha life.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

Led a bloody uprising against Imperial occupiers on his planet even though they were already withdrawing, killing thousands of retreating Imperial troops and murdering the Imperial governor in cold blood.
Enslaved 300,000 Imperials in the exact same way he was enslaved despite knowing the horrible nature of slavery, negating any tragedy he once had.
Murdered Viceroy Kiv Truun of the Duskhan League so he could become Viceroy himself and take control of the Duskhan League, turning the government into an autocratic dictatorship.
Pretended to want negotiations with Chief of State Leia Organa Solo of the New Republic just so he could cause chaos in the New Republic and ensure no one could stop his plans by turning the public against Leia.
Purposefully killed dozens of civilians by recklessly launching his ship so he could blame and frame Leia for trying to start a war with the Yevetha and end negotiations with the New Republic
Ordered the Yevetha Purge, destroying all life in the cluster Yevetha was part of, killing millions.
Rejected Leia's offer of surrender and withdrawal from non-Yevetha space.
Ordered the ambush of the New Republic Fifth Fleet, using hostages to make the fleet hesitate to attack, killing thousands of New Republic soldiers and forcing the fleet to retreat.
Captured Han Solo, and informed his wife Leia that he would kill Han to try and force her to end the war and withdraw from his space.
Brought Han and another prisoner named Barth to his flagship and offered Han a choice to convince Leia to surrender or suffer total war as the Yevetha did not surrender but when Han refused, Spaar killed Barth out of spite.
After the New Republic won a battle against the Yevetha and destroyed one of their shipyards, Spaar broadcasted himself torturing Han to the New Republic and specifically Leia, telling them to withdraw again.
Not only was he a genocidal warlord who viewed all non-Yevetha as vermin, but he also didn't care for his own people, frequently killing his own men for failing him or simply wavering in their devotion to him, viewing them as tools for his plans.
His presence made the Black Fleet novels darker than any EU novels released up to that point and his actions would have far reaching consequences after his (presumed) death as Leia would be forced to resign for this debacle along with two other minor incidents which would lead to Borsk Feyla becoming the leader of the New Republic and being ridiculously underprepared for the Yuuzhan Vong threat.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

He genuinely loved his first wife/mate and after her death, he honored her by making sure none of his new concubines could use her room signifying that she was irreplaceable to him.
