“ One time I saw him watching us having sex... he was in the doorway masturbating. „
~ Nicole Keller trying to frame her own son.

Nicole Keller is the main antagonist of the episode "Motherly Love" in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.

She is a psychiatrist who in secret, is a serial rapist who has devious relationships with underaged teenage boys and eventually goes as far as to manipulate her teenage son into killing one of her victims.

He is portrayed by Sarah Wynter.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • She manipulated and had sexual relations with her son's friends & classmates (who are both under-aged, a lot where raped and others can't legally consent); she would commit statutory rape on both Trey Franklin and Ethan Miller, and it would be said that she had raped numerous other minors.
    • It's shown that Ethan Miller is traumatized by the sexual abuse Nicole did to him, scared to even reveal the details. As the episode later says, she has also sexually abused other classmates that did not give consent.
  • At one point she invited Trey Franklin into her home to rape him, she frames the act as rape to her son, making him shoot Trey dead.
    • It should be noted that Trey Franklin is her son's best friend and Nicole Keller is aware of this.
  • When confronted, she is completely apathetic to what happened and claims that its 'normal'.
  • Her ex-husband who is another psychiatrist reveals that he discovered that she is an obsessive narcissist who is completely void of empathy and compassion, he tried to win dozens of court battles to get his son, but they all failed.
  • In the court room, when she sees that the jury isn't buying her story, she attempts to frame her own son as being incestuously interested in her own mother, attempting to manipulate him into turning himself in. In secret, she actually blames her son for everything that happened.
    • Her son has a mental breakdown over this and attempts to frame himself for his mother before Benson is able to talk him out of it and cut him out of his mother's psychological abuse.
  • When her attempt to manipulate the court fails, she continues to try and manipulate her son by claiming that she'll 'always be his mother' and 'always love him' despite the fact she tried to frame him.
  • While her only on-screen rape would be bog-standard by the standards of the show, the psychological abuse she inflicts on her own son and the manipulative murder of one of her victims pushes her past the baseline and makes her uniquely stand out.

What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • While the effects of her sexual abuse are shown on-screen with her one confirmed victim, the exact number of victims she has is never quantified and therefore relies on Fridge Horror, which causes her to fail the absurd Heinous Standards to other sexual predators in the Law & Order universe.
