Stupid Arpeggio. I double-crossed the Cooper Gang, Interpol and Carmelita... what made you think I wouldn't do the same to you?
~ Neyla betraying Arpeggio

Neyla is the secondary antagonist of the Sly Cooper franchise, serving as the main antagonist of Sly 2: Band of Thieves, one of the two posthumous overarching antagonists of Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves (alongside Clockwerk), and a posthumous antagonist in Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.

She is a tigress who is part of Interpol, but is secretly a member of the Klaww Gang who seeks the Clockwerk Parts in order to become immortal. She also serves as the archenemy of Carmelita Fox.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Her backstory reveals that she was already manipulative in her youth, scamming her way into a British university and tricking fellow students into doing her homework for her. While it is mentioned that she grew up as a poor child, this is a poor explanation for her manipulating everyone she meets in life to get ahead, especially since she continued doing it even after Interpol offered her a job for her ability to "get inside the criminal mind" instead of arresting her for cheating her way through school.
  • Given she was a member of the Klaww Gang, she partook in the robbery of the Clockwerk Parts, and killed a large amount of guards.
  • She deliberarly assisted the Cooper Gang in arresting Dimitri and Rajan, showing no qualms about betraying her fellow gang members, while winning the Cooper Gang's trust to ensure they would not have any misgivings about her.
  • She betrays the Cooper Gang, resulting in Sly being injured. She proceeds to have Sly and Murray arrested. She also frames Carmelita as an accomplice to the gang and gets her arrested as well. While getting Sly and Murray arrested was done to eliminate them as rivals to get the Clockwerk parts, betraying Carmelita was just done so she could make herself look better for "exposing another officer's corruption".
    • Before betraying the Cooper Gang, she promised to take Sly (who was developing a crush on her) up on his offer to go on a date with him in Bollywood, likely just to toy with his heart before crushing it.
  • She wages war against the Contessa for the money after news of the latter's corruption spreads to INTERPOL. Even after the Contessa's defeat, Neyla betrays INTERPOL by having her arrested (jeopardizing Carmelita's career in the process), causing her to be promoted to captain.
  • She attempts to sabotage the retrieval of the Clockwerk Eyes by stealing one of them before Sly can grab it.
  • She orders her bombers to attack the Contessa's blimp while Bentley was piloting it, trying to get him killed.
  • She attempts to kill Sly with her airplane twice when he tries to get the Clockwerk stomach.
  • She betrays and kills Arpeggio, taking the Clockwerk frame for herself. She kills the bird by crushing him to death with Clockwerk's beak, a horrible death, even if it was done off-screen.
  • She plans to unleash a hypnotic light show of hate upon Paris, driving the citizens into a violent and hateful frenzy, all so she can become immortal.
  • She tries to kill Sly and Carmelita during their aerial battle with her.
  • During her final showdown, she destroys Arpeggio's blimp and tries to kill Bentley and Murray.
  • She makes a final attempt to kill the Cooper Gang with lasers, even paralyzing Bentley for the rest of the series by crushing his legs when he manages to remove the Hate Chip.

What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • The ramifications of her attempting to drive Paris into a violent, hateful frenzy fall onto fridge horror.
  • Upon becoming Clock-La, part of the reason Neyla becomes more evil than before is because some of Clockwerk's influence spills into her personality, and it is implied that without the slowly-awakening Clockwerk inside the frame, Neyla would have remained the same as before. She likewise claims that the Hate Chip is the source of her power, implying that it had some effect on altering her personality, in addition to its primary purpose of preventing the Clockwerk parts from aging. While both of these open the doors to moral agency issues, they do not greatly affect Neyla's already criminal intentions, so this is only a minor prevention.
