Mr. A is a supporting antagonist of the sci-fi horror anime/manga series Parasyte.
He is a parasite who considers Shinichi Izumi a threat and has been described by his fellow parasites Reiko Tamura and Migi as fool or "not one of our smart ones".
He was voiced by Makoto Yasumura in Japanese, and David Wald in English.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Is both stated and shown to be sadistic, even by parasite standards. Unlike most parasites, he mainly murders due to viewing others as inferior species, rather than an actual need for consumption. He also stands out as one of the few parasites to actively go out of his way to target Shinichi, rather than being encountered by him.
- “Rescues” a woman from 4 men then lured her away. When the men return later, he ends up killing them and then decapitates the girl, after she witnesses his murders in horror.
- Breaks into a local zoo and slaughters a lion due to seeing it as an inferior species.
- Agreed to Reiko Tamura’s request to impregnate her and showed no interest in raising said child.
- Viewing Shinichi as a threat, he breaks into his high school and killed multiple students and staff, then tried to kill Shinichi himself but ultimately failed.
- While he was betrayed by Reiko at the end, this doesn’t make him remotely sympathetic since he decided to disobey her orders and commit mass murder.
- It could be argued that A has moral agency issues since Parasites are mostly instinctual man-eaters. However, unlike his mate, Reiko, he actively shows no interest in finding his true identity/purpose and willfully follows his instincts. It is also worth noting that some of them, like Migi, Jaw and Reiko herself are capable of redeeming themselves and some like Gotou and Miki are capable of mild empathy at least.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Fails the Heinous Standards to Hideo Shimada with same resources, who slaughters 17 teachers and students in the high school as well as having additional victims, being teenage girls, he lured to their deaths.
- It can also be argued he fails to Uragami with less resources, a mere human serial killer rapist and cannibal who targeted multiple women (including a child), though does it mainly offscreen.
