| ~ Mickey Cohen |
Meyer Harris "Mickey" Cohen is a supporting antagonist in the videogame L.A. Noire. He appears as a thorn on Detective Cole Phelps' side later in the story.
A notorious gangland figure in Los Angeles, he is a supplier for Courtney Sheldon in distributing morphine in the black market of Los Angeles itself. He is always accompanied by his right-hand man Johnny Stompanato, making him a difficult man to find; and with his finger in numerous pies including illegal weapons trading, narcotics, gambling and any other illicit activity you can think of. He also has connections within the LAPD and knew Roy Earle before the start of the game. Cohen encountered Phelps on a number of cases.
He was voiced by Patrick Fischler.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- After the death of Bugsy Siegel, he became a powerful crime lord responsible for gambling, drugs distribution and weapons dealing. He is also heavily implied to be the in control of auto-theft racket from "A Slip of the Tongue".
- Made a deal with Courtney Sheldon to sell military morphine from Coolridge Heist and immediately started to sell it to the addicts, military morphine turned out to be much stronger than expected what resulted in several deaths about which he was completly aware of but chose to ignore.
- After Courtney tried to get out of the deal, Mickey tried to bribe him to give him the rest of his morphine and after Sheldon refused he ordered his men to kill him to obtain the drugs.
- While he agreed to meet with Kelso and Sheldon to stop the situation from escalating it was only because he expected that they will give him the rest of the morphine in exchange for their lives. After Kelso refused and told him that they are going to get rid of it he decided to kill everone responsible for Coolridge Heist as revenge for refusing his offer.
- He didn't care about his brother-in-law Lenny as after his death he called him moron and told that the only reason why he was part of his organization was because he was part of his family. To make it worst Lenny himself prefered to die than to endure whatever Cohen planned to do to him if he got caught.
- After Albert Hammond won a boxing match which he was supposed to lose, Cohen put a hit on him. It is also implied that he gave Carlo (Albert's manager who wanted to kill him) a few of his men to assist him in his search, which makes him responsible for the death of Candy Edwards.
- Sent his men to kill Eddie McGoldrick which also resulted in deaths of two musicians.
- Sent one of his assassins to kill Felix Alvarro, who worked as a bus driver, endangering passengers of the bus and resulting in the death of one of the cops who was sent in to save them.
- Sent his men to kill Christopher Majewski.
- Sent five of his men to kill Michael Driscoll and Walter Beckett, leading to Driscoll being killed and Beckett being fatally wounded and dying shortly after being saved.
- Sent his men to kill Patrick Connolly and John Higgins at Grauman's Theatre ,with both men barely managing to survive.
- Set up a meeting with Sheldon once more, only to force him to hand over the morphine and eliminate him afterwards. When Cole Phelps and Roy Earle arrived at the meeting instead, he sent his men to kill them.
- While he gets along with his right-hand Johnny Stompanato, it is left ambiguous if he does care about him as their interactions are limited.
- He ultimately gets away with all his crimes, and while it is likely that he will meet the same fate as his real life counterpart, nothing in-game confirms that, with him being the most powerful kingpin in Los Angeles at the end of the story.
- He has no redeeming qualities, simply being a self-centered mobster who will do anything for power and money. He also seemingly doesn't care about his men and is willing to let multiple of them die for his goals.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He fails the heinous standard to Harlan Fontaine, who drugged up his patients and caused the deaths of several families in arsons. Though he might be able to count via his gang activities, most of them are offscreen villainy.
