These eyes will deceive you. They will destroy you. They will take from you your innocence, your pride, and eventually your soul. These eyes do not see what you and I see. Behind these eyes one finds only blackness, the absence of light. These are the eyes of a psychopath. Michael was created by a perfect alignment of interior and exterior factors gone violently wrong. A perfect storm, if you will. Thus creating a psychopath that knows no boundaries and has no boundaries.
~ Dr. Samuel Loomis about how Michael Myers was turned into a psychopath.
DIE!
~ Michael Myers' infamous line.

Michael Audrey Myers is the main antagonist of Rob Zombie's Halloween remake duology. He is based off his original incarnation with the same name. While the aforementioned original version of Michael is widely believed to be evil incarnate, it is not as clear-cut when it comes to the one in the remake.

Originally a normal boy, he was abused by several people, including his sister Judith and school bullies, he was sent to a mental hospital after he killed everyone who tormented him. One day, he ends up escaping, and would become a dangerous serial killer similar to that of his original counterpart (though with some redeeming qualities and minor differences).

He was portrayed by Tyler Mane as an adult and by Daeg Faerch as a child.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

In General[]

  • While a lot of the people he killed were jerks, this doesn’t make him a vigilante or count as a redeeming quality as he also killed several innocent people as well.
  • He passes the baseline with a high body count of forty-three and is easily the most heinous character in the two films.

Halloween[]

  • He tortured and killed various animals at the age of ten.
  • He killed Wesley Rhoades by hitting him multiple times with a stick.
  • He killed his mother Deborah's boyfriend Ronnie White by cutting his throat while he was sleeping.
  • He killed his sister's boyfriend Steve Haley by hitting him multiple times with a baseball bat, unlike the others he had done nothing wrong to him and even kindly told him to have fun that night.
  • He killed Judith, his older sister, by stabbing her for seventeen times with a knife.
  • He killed Nurse Wynn with a metal fork when her back was turned.
  • He ends up causing his own mother Deborah to commit suicide (though that was unintentional on his part).
  • When Noel Kluggs and his cousin Kendall starts to rape a patient in his room and while Michael at the end killed both of them, Michael didn't did that for concern about the patient but for the simple fact that Noel and Kendall in one moment when they were raping the patient, they put Michael's masks and while Michael didn't kill the patient, he didn't care for her since he didn't check how she was, he only cared for escaping the sanatorium.
  • While breaking out of Smith's Grove, he slaughters numerous staff members, including Ismael Cruz, who had befriended Michael as a child and been nothing but kind to him.
  • He killed Joe Grizzly by stamping him with the toilet and then stabbing him.
  • He killed a coyote and put its body in the cemetery.
  • While looking for Laurie, he ends up slaughtering numerous people, including Lynda, Bob, and Paul.
  • Assaulted and captured Annie alive, only to torture her. After he was done, she managed to survive, so the next time he found her he decided to give her another dose of it, and she died a short while after he was gone.
  • When he gets to Laurie's house, he ends up killing her adoptive parents.
  • He ends up abducting Laurie, and when she does not seem to understand that they are siblings, he slams her onto a table and snaps her neck.
  • When police go after him, he ends up killing some of them.
  • When ambulances come for him when he was presumed dead, he ends up killing one of the paramedics.
  • His actions ultimately lead to Laurie being traumatized, as she has nightmares and flashbacks about his actions.

Halloween II[]

  • He ends up killing Floyd and his son-in-law Sherman. While this was understandable as it was for revenge after they beat him, he ends up killing Sherman's wife Jazlean, who tried to get them to leave him alone, and then soon after killed their dog Ivan and ate his remains.
  • While at the Rabbit in Red nightclub, he kills Howard Boggs, Big Lou, some random stripper, and Ned Atkins.
  • During a Halloween party, he kills Harley and Wolfie.
  • Upon arriving at the Brackett house, he kills the police officer guarding it (as well as Annie).
  • When Laurie and Mya arrive at the Brackett house, he brutally stabs Mya to death.
  • When Becks arrives to save Laura by taking her to a hospital, he ends up killing him by throwing him through the window shield.
  • Upon capturing Laurie in a shack, he ends up psychologically tormenting her.
  • In the theatrical version, he kills Loomis when he tries to save Laurie, while in the unrated version, he stabs Loomis and it is unclear if it kills him.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Unlike his original counterpart, Michael is mentally ill and has a tragic backstory of constantly being abused by his sister Judith, his mother's boyfriend Ronnie White, and his school bully Wesley Rhoades. This is what caused him to become the serial killer he is, and though it stops excusing his actions after he killed everyone who tormented him, it is still played with sympathy. As a result of that, he has insecurities about feeling ugly, which is the reason why he uses masks to hide his "ugliness". However, considering how he is often portrayed like his original counterpart and the fact he killed so many innocent people who were nice to him, this is not too big of a prevention.
  • He genuinely cares for his sister Laurie, as he is fond of her and wants to have a happy family with her again. And though he did slam her against a table and break her neck, that was right after she had stabbed him. He also cared for his mother, despite inadvertently driving her to suicide, as he acted very kind toward her and hallucinated her spirit as an adult encouraging him in his goal to reunite with Laurie.
  • He generally refuses to hurt children or rape victims, even when he has a perfect opportunity to, which greatly contrasts how he treats anyone else. This shows he does have some standards and a sense of honor.
  • In an alternate ending, Dr. Loomis reasons with Michael and convinces him to let Laurie go after he attempts to attack her, showing remorse by throwing his knife to the ground. Also, his ending here is played with sympathy as he sees how the police kill him and Laurie cries for him.

Trivia[]

  • This is the one of two versions of Michael Myers to be Near Pure Evil, alongside Bob Animation counterpart.
  • Along with Dr. Terrence Wynn from the Producer's Cut of Halloween 6, he is one of the 2 Halloween villains to be Near Pure Evil.
